Ah, Gits I am glad Epic Thread will continue to be Epic. Thanks for updating the summary, it allowed me to get back up to speed quickly.

Excellent work as usual, I'm looking forward to the inevitable Adepticon After Reports!

Oh, almost forgot (thanks auto append!)

For an Army Shot, you may wish to consider following some of the artwork in the BBB or Codexii, of chapters in their "great hall" all lined up inside or on the field of battle, ready for inspection. Not a lot of detail in those pictures, but they're still quite stirring in their own right!

I would love to hear the 'surviving adepticon' stories.

I will chime in with the "Go Green" feelings, especially given the two schemes of your army.

As for the paint scheme for the pods themselves, I would use the color scheme of your standard MW, so...green main body, and the 'wings' painted the color of the border of your shoulder pads. Then, if you have a tertiary color, use that for details and paneling.

I am leaning hard towards the green, green, green, and some green.

Add in the yellow and black warning hazard stripes, metallic details, re-entry markings, and I think you're all set.

Like this?

You are now front page news, Gits. Congratulations to you and all of your achievements. And, of course, a shout out to all the people who have help Gits realize his 20 year dream. THIS is Dakka at its finest.

Hey, Git, do you have an image of your logo in the correct size of the circles you want on your drop pods?

Gits,

I believe a return to Model Railroading will provide you with a post-Adepticon Solution. There has been a rise in 'roll your own' decals, with companies like Microscale printing custom sheets on their equipment.

While they may be amused, having them do a run of MW sheets (get all the MW people together, put in a minimum order?) should get you high-quality decals, and enough for the rest of your MW career.

Just a thought.

Gits,

I apologize if this is a dumb question, but, when you print out your waterslide decals, do you then hit the sheet with a coat or two of Gloss Varnish (Glosskote), and let it dry overnight?

Also, have you considered laying down TWO decals, one on top of each other, to get a more solid color?

"Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, we're all on the Road to Chicagooooo! We certainly do get arrr-oo--oo-oound!"

Boom-chikky-boom-chikky-boom.

I am very glad the Medicae was able to juice you with the combat drugs, Gits! Luck and Honor.

PS: There's your Bing, Bob, AND Brooks reference, Gits.

I guess my biggest confusion, aside from painting, is "Theme". Uhm. 44/60? Is there an example of someone who scored close to 60/60? I thought your armies were majestically themed, and everything was tied together very well.

PS: Enjoy your well-deserved rest!

<de-lurk>

Well, Gits, after catching up on EpicThread, I can see that things are progressing nicely. Beautiful work on the insectoid wing-pack, it really captured a dynamic pose. Someday, someone will figure out how to build a tournament or series of events that caters to the 'non-competitive'. I really got disheartened at the local club, because if you want to stand a chance of winning, you have to have one of the "Lists", so I feel your pain. However, I'm confident that you will be able to field a list that still "feels" right.

As always, looking forward to watching more of your Journey, and wishing I lived a heck of a lot closer.

My $0.02:

I believe the 'all Caucasian' thing dates back to the beginning, where, really, all the races came out of "classical European fantasy", followed quickly by "classical European fantasy...IN SPACE". Just not a lot of skin tine variation there.

I wonder if Japanese players paint their skin tones differently, or if they follow the 'norm'.

TO THE INTERNET!

I feel that there really isn't any room, in 5th edition, to truly maneuver. Increased model count and overall increased speed has made the 4x6 table just too tiny.

Gits, I have a question, vis a vis the Iron Clad.

I understand that is has not done much, offensively, but have you added in the value of it being a fire magnet? In other words, how much firepower has it drawn away from the rest of the army? If this is a consistently high value, it should be taken into consideration.

Okay, Gits. I have cracked open my last bottle of Mojo, carefully reserved for low-motivation times like these. I am ready for your GitzBitz, and there is a new project percolating in my plog. But I'm not going to move to Wisconsin.

Because this sort of discussion and discourse has fallen by the wayside. Most people don't get this, even from the local game/hobby store.

It really annoys me that the IA books are now only in hardcover, and, thusly, cost far too much money.

I will be at GenCon, demoing Artemis, the starship bridge simulator. Ask for Brian. And that's my shameless plug for this plog.

I have surfaced from my Valkyrie building/abusing frenzy to say, "Damn, I'm jealous of that beautiful and epic-themed objective marker."

Maybe it is time to start another marker swap.

Now that my post-GenCon fugue is starting, I have two comments:

1) I agree with a previous poster. Put the Batreps where they belong, and put the lead picture HERE, with a link to the actual Battle Report.

2) I do not understand why Forge world has not personally contacted Gits, and thanks him for single-handedly pimping the entire Badab War.

Mounting it on a base gives you two options. If they play bases-only, you have a base. If they demand you measure from the weapon...you have the weapon!

Should be good to go.

I will support your Guard Efforts!

Also, Gits is correct. Slow and Steady wins the race...but you're slow. Which is why my plog has only turned over page #4.

Looking forward to more hot hot Mantis Warrior Action, Gits. Moar Batrepz! Moar Painting! Moar Tales of Woe!
