(10)Assault squad-240
thunderhammer
x2 meltas
(9)Death company squad-265
powerfistsx2
drop pod
DC dreadnought-195
Blood talons

drop pod
Locator beacon
DC dreadnought-185
Blood talons

magna grapples
drop pod
(5) CC Scouts-115
Camo cloaks
combi-melta
power weapon
(5)sniper Scouts-90
Camo cloaks
Okay. So Astorath joins the big assault squad, giving em rerolls. The oneo cc scout squad goes into reserve, to outflank and take objectives later game hopefully. Combi-melta they get lucky and end up behind a tank. Azzy gives them a better chance for furious charge, and cc scouts with FC= sweet deal.
I have 3 drop pods, so I can leave the DC troops in reserve if it looks like there will be no units out of transports to attack. The DC dreads can come in first, and with magna grapples and meltas, have a really good chance of popping something.
The DC troops will all have bolters, so that they can spray'n'pray when they come out. The chappy is there in case they survive, then wham! Reroll to hit and would with 3 attacks each! Yay!
Sniper scouts sit back, shooting stuff and holding nearby objectives. I have the points for one homing beacon, which I stuck on the dc dread pod, as one will come in first, and I want my uber-freem terminators to pop up and make themselves a bigger threat than the DC.
Thoughts?

It looks like you have 7 troop choices in there.
1 - Assault squad
1 - DC unit
2 - DC Dreads
3 - Scout units
I checked the book, but don't see anything about any of those not taking up slots on FoC, did I miss something or do you have too many?
edit: Other than that. I dig the list. Looks like you have some punch, not to mention the magna grapples will let you drag folks off objectives and/or away from your units on objectives.
Maybe upgrade the Assault squad to a Vanguard vet squad. would have to drop a couple guys and couldn't get the meltas, but would give you a sarge w/ a PW and you'd have access to inferno pistols and heroic intervention giving you the option to run as tank killers or unit killers.

Also, your DCD's have a role contradiction with the magna-grapples and blood talons. Pick one or the other. With MG's and DCCW's, you can pull tanks to you and then punch them in the face. With MG and BT, you pull the tank to you and you might do something, but that doesnt really matter, because your Blood Talon dreads should be haulin balls to a unit of infantry.

CC Scouts with Camo, why, for stealth? They're not offering anything to your list accept soaking up points best spent on something better. Scouts with sniper rifles suck, drop em'. If you're looking for something to sit on objectives an assault squad with a razorback mounting Las-plas would be a better use of points. For about the same amount you could get two such units and they would actually offer something to your list. I understand you want them to outflank but they're only scouts, on foot. What is Astorath giving you that a Librarian with Unleash rage and another Sanguinary Priest or two can't do and do better? He's cool and all, but there's really no purpose to have him. I can see that you want the Red Thirst, and he gives you a better chance at getting it. However, Sanguinary Priests always give it to you, essentially, as long as you're within 6". On top of that they give you FNP as a bonus.

Well first off there are 7 troop units, so you're gonna need to fix that. Second, whats gonna stop Lash? Nothing. You have no transports, and no psychic hoods. I only have one lash in my 1850 list and it would decimate this one, simply becasue I'd be able to move you around so well and blast you away with Plasma cannons and other AP 1,2, and 3 weapons. You hardly have any protection from, well, anything. Every wound your opponents make you'll be taking against one of your units, which will dwindle them down quite quickly.

Thanks guys!
Druff= durpa durp! How did I miss that!!! I will have to get fixin that pronto.
Caboose= I see what you mean. I included them more for the "i hope I pop that rhino first turn with a melta and the S8 AP2 grapple. I see how that could cause problems later on when chasing down infantry.
Grim Smasha= I disagree. If a scout squad comes in side table edge, and the enemy doesn't have a bunch of flamer spam or assault units sitting around NOT running at the DC, dreads and assault marines, they can be hard to move.
The sniper scouts are there not so much to cause mucho wounds on the enemy, but force them to come on over, getting them closer to my assault squads.
Billie joe= been pointed out, thanks. Good point about the psychic hood though, I may through a termi librarian in there for fun and kicks.

I don't think anyone would bother with the sniper scouts, they generally fail.

well I see one problem you have to choose blood talons or the magma grapple you cannot have both.
the blood talons count as two weapons and take up both your slots.

Magna-grapples do not replace anything. Think Frag assault launchers on the ironclad.

Astorath is great and all. But You are spending a lot of points on single models in the HQ / Elite section. Just look at all those points and think of how many more wounds you could field instead.
I do think Death Company + Chaplain is the almightly squad of amazingness. It's leaps and bounds better than Khorne Berzerkers, and they rule. You just need to give them a good transport, preferably an assault vehicle.
Transports are the shiznizzle when it comes to any sort of game. Keep your troops safe, and out of harm. I would drop all the scouts IMO, and try to get assault marines without jetpacks into transports to get the transports super cheap.
x5 assault + LRC + 10DC + Chaplain = win

Koski= Yeah, I see what you mean. I really struggle with the rule of cool vs. tactically smart decisions. I usually field units based on a theme or single fig (in this case, astorath, because the model is gorgeous). I'll have to do some more work on this list methinks!

Maybe taking two chaplains is a little ridiculous? Dante would be much more face-ownage since your fielding a normal chaplain instead of Astorath for your Death Company anyways.

I think Astorath is definitely one of the best HQs in hte new codex. S6, half your squads including dreadnaughts will always have furious charge & fearlessness plus the squad he joins can reroll to hit when charging. It's insane. On top of that any wound he inflicts with his axe the enemy must reroll successful invulnerable saves. He's got the 4++ & can join units unlike the Sanguinor & Mephiston.

When you put it that way, he does sound amazing.
Honestly when I look at the BA HQs. Nothing really piques my interest. I don't know why, maybe because they're all so damn expensive. If I ran a BA list, I'd use a chaplain / reclusiarch attached to death company, I don't know where from there. But that's a beefy killy unit.
Your list looks pretty good actually, the terminator unit is awesome and super killy. But it's getting pretty pricey, if you changed that it would open a lot more.
I just realized you have two DC dreadnoughts. You have to field at least 10 Death Company then.
Good luck! Post revised list when you figure it out
