Heya, just finished up a game agaisnt a friend who up until now had been beating me in games with his space marine army against my tau and necron, that was until i used a soldier spam Imperial Guard army.

Even after he went back and changed his army to one that was best suited for my solider spam i still managed to grab a victory - a close one but a victory all the same.

Anyway, after tweaking the list a bit i've come up with this:

Company Command Squad - 170points
- Power weapon
- Vox caster
- 3 Meltas
- Krak grenades
- Officer of the fleet
- Carapace armour
- Camo cloaks

( 5 ) Infantry Squad - 90 points
- Melta Bomb
- Flamer
- Heavy weapon Lascannon
- Power weapon

( 2 ) Scount Sentinel - 45 points
- Heavy flamer
- Smoke launchers

Devil Dog - 140 points
- Multimelta
- Smoke Launchers

Leman Russ - 150 points

Cost: 1000 points

My previous list didnt upgrade my CCS anywhere near as much as i have now, and because of that he took them out way too early in the game resulting in me not being able to issue commands, the officer of the fleet is also there to hopfully cause reserves to at the very least have to wait one extra turn. I've put the devildog and sentinels in there to charge up quickly and burn as many men as they can while my men pack his marines full of holes with the lascannons punching a hole in any tanks trying to kill them. While any long range stragglers are bombarded by the Leman Russ.

I was hoping any Imperial players could give me a bit of advise on the list if anything is wrong or worth taking, i'm sure my friend's busy making the best list he could possibly come up with for beating my Imperial.

It looks good, but you're missing something.....in order to run infantry squads, you have to run a Platoon Command Squad. I've also posted in another thread that Heavy Weapons teams will work much better than Sentinels...their armour and attacks just aren't worth the points.

Your the IG, shouldnt you be fielding more troops? It's just what I thought you guys did. Thats a lot of tank powerage though.

Yeah, your list is illegal - you need a PCS to take infantry squads, and you need 2 troop choices.

Also, if you're taking PWs and flamers, take a commissar, and put the lascannons in a seperate unit.

Eldar Corsairs: 4000 pts
Imperial Guard: 4000 pts

Corregidor 700 pts
Acontecimento 400 pts

I feel like its a waste having a power weapon and lascannon combined in the same squad, one model wants to assault while the other wants to stay back and hold ground. I used to mix them up like this in my life and found seperating made a big difference.

2200+ points guard
WIP 3000+ point praetorian renegade army.
500+ points tyranid all OOP and wip

For your CCS lose the Carapace armour and Camo cloaks wasted points, if you are taking a vox in your CCS you need them in each of the squads or it becomes pointless.

i personaly would ether make the sentanal one with a lascannon or autocannon as the flamer is worth less or get rid of it all together.

and as I-bounty-hunt-the-elderly said make it a legal list with a PCS, i would consider vet squads with chimeras.

and keep Heavy weapon teams out of infantry squads that are usles unless you are sitting on an objective
