So... I noticed something about blood angels after reading their codex again today.

Land Raiders are dedicated transports *snip*.. This means you can field 17 land raiders of whatever variant you wish that can all deep strike.

I think I need to lay down.

no land raiders as heavies... *facepalm*, but devistators can take them...

That's awesome! I don't think you'll see it happen too much though. The cost is pretty prohibitive.

It's a neat option for big games. For regular points-size games I think overloading on land raiders turns your army into a serious Rock, cracking Scissors with ease and gettings its clock cleaned by Paper.

Fielding large numbers of Land Raiders would typically be relegated to Apoc games. And those games, the FOC is very loose, if at all followed.

BT can field 11 crusaders and 3 Regular (or crusader) landraiders. I think the BA dex has many other ways in which it is broken.

"many other ways"? That implies that you think a dozen (or even one) deep striking land raiders are broken.


... Yeah, that says a lot.

I'd rather see 12 Deep striking Land Raiders than say, 180 Ork Boyz.

With the abundance of melta in the meta any competitive list would be able to deal with those Raiders rather handily. If the dice weren't against them, that is.

The Sanguinor and Mephiston are IC CRUSHERS. I quite liked the sight of my Logan Grimnar. I thought he was strong, not counting his squad-heliping abilities.

BOY WAS I WRONG! Really, I honestly doubt I'll ever play in a tournament until the new DE codex comes out, and then I'll use them. Not because I want to use a powerful, which they most likely will be, but because I love dark lances.

Well Mephiston doesnt have an invulnemrable save, and if you have any antipsyker you have a good shot at keeping him moving only 6" a turn.

Oh, and neither can be joined to, or joined by, ANY models.

I had the perfect video for this . The hitler blood angels thingy lol . Youtube banned it though ¬¬ "sigh". Anyhow , the bigger the army is the harder it falls. No need to worry if you play taticaly instead of using big costly units like BA.

And heres the crappy thing. Its probably going to come out and do 1 of 2 things. Its either going to suck something fierce, because theyve supposedly had it done, for forever, so its probably before the "every new codex is bigger better STRONGER!!!!"

Agree! I feel like this is overlooked.

BA codex is decent at best you really have to know what to take to be any kind of competitive. You guys are whining about the weakest part of the list too Land raiders will probably not be seen in most BA lists and probably not even dare to deep strike. All it takes is one little grot to make your big nasty landraider mishap.

Mehpiston has awesome stats but he is a non independent character so all you have to do is pop his ride and single him out. Sanguiner is good at IC killing because thats what hes suppose to do. The only worthwhile HQ unit is the librarians their insane for their point cost, Two psychic powers and a jump pack nice! Sanguinary priests suffer from being IC's because if their engaged in combat hope to god that your opponent cant get within base to base with him or hes done.

The BA codex is good but your gonna have to know how to make a list to make it worthwhile.

x5 and your looking 1525, add a chaplain / lib and its 1650 odd. still points to spend for a 1750 list

5 LRs in a 1750 game would be so broken.

if i start BAs i am doing that.

I suspect that the $1000 investment in 17 Landraiders would be better spent on therapy to discuss why a player feels the need to own 17 Landraiders.

The Landraiders can either pop tanks or kill infantry and can not switch easily in game. They are easy enough to kill if they get into effective range.

The 5 raiders in a 1750pt list serves no purpose as the redeemers can be surrounded with melta weapons and power fists while the godhammers can do jack sh*t to stop them dying and the crusaders can be popped by any lascannons in the force laving the 2 godhammrs that a normal person would take in this list trying to kill off all of the melta equipped squads while they run forwards singing "Disco Inferno".
