Hi everyone,

Just been toying with and Eldar army idea for a while,
So I'm here to post it get some help on stuff since I'm relatively new to Eldar.

However I don't want the list to be Tournament standard I want it to be a casual stealthy kind of list !

So What should i add too make it 1500 ?

Also how could i modify the list to make a 750 list what should i be adding or removing there ?

Rule of thumb for dedicated Eldar Close Combat units: Always take max squad size. Beef that Scorpions unit to a 10 man.

Wraithlords: Do either Bright Lance with Eldar Missile Launcher or just Wraithsword. If you want the sword then you want to be in CC so you'll be running during your shooting phases.

Take a farseer with your DA in the Serpent and keep it near the Wraithlords. Remember you must have a psyker within 6" (12" for spiritseer) or they are subject to wraithsight tests.

750 Strip off upgrades here and there, take the DA down to a 5 man without exarch, drop a pathfinder pack, etc.

Twin scatter lasers are better then star cannons on walkers. Double the number of shots and a good marine player is going to be using cover anyway. A guided walker squad will quickly cause fear every time you roll the 24 dice.

Close, S Pistol and Diresword but yes S Pistol and Dire Sword are nearly useless in a Ldr 10 world.

keep the pistol on the Autarch, you want the +1 attack in CC.

Drop the singing spear, when you drop out for bladesorm/Firing you want to be at 18" and keep your farseer in the tank where it's safe. Take Runes of Warding, for 15pts you give all enemy psykers the finger.

Drop stalker, Move through cover should mean nothing since they will be in a serpent.

Keep the Rangers 4 separate 5 packs. If they are dieing it's from CC or Flamers and two seperate packs are harder to kill off.

DA Exarch, to be fully honest Dual Cata and Bladestorm is the only real combo. PW/SS or DS/SP are crap because if DA are getting in CC vs anything but Tau or IG they are dead as a doornail.

Personally not a fan of Star Engines, yes they are helpful for last minute grabs, but I would rather be popping shots off then going 12" more.

As Durandal said, take SL or EML. SL make wonderful Anti Infantry and popping light tanks, plus they keep the price cheaper. Take EMLs if you want medium armor devastation, but a higher price. Everything gets cover nowadays so 25pts for a starcannon just isn't worth it.

Needs moar Seer Council. Seriously Witchblades and Singing Spears are pure concentrated epic. As is the Doom spell. Destructor is also pretty neat.

Howling Banshees are awesome against CC armies. Scorpions are great against non CC units, but their lack of power weapons can be a problem.

War Walkers are best with either Scatter Lasers or EMLs.

I would also recommend putting holo fields on your high-value vehicles, they vastly increase your tanks' survivability

Ranger pathfinders are all neat and stuff. But they're actually pretty expensive compared to other Eldar units. Maybe two squads of five would help you enough from their aspect.

You definately should fill out those CC squadsi f that's your goal.

btw if your a CC based list, why not take an Avatar? He's the most insanely op thing for only 155 points. And gives everyone fearless around him.

SpringLevel is right, autarchs are real cool and all, but they're nothing compared to chapter masters, or other HQs eldar can field. I would rethink the Autarch if I were you as well.

Hey cheers for the advice !g gives me plenty to think about that's for sure ! I'll go away and rethink my list, see what we can come up with.

If you are going to put a foot autarch on the field, I think you are almost always better off going with Yriel... his spear of twilight is truly epic. s9 v tanks and dreads, always wounds on twos, and is a power weapon... couple that with a good number of attacks, and great initiative.

Otherwise, Autarchs primary purpose are, as has been said, reserve rolls. Its a popular idea to run them with a mobile squad, such as warp spiders, and give him wjg a fusion gun, power sword and mandi blasters, and with the spiders maneuverability, shoot and engage small support squads without power fists and lots of heavy weapons, like long fangs, or lootas, then leave combat in thier turn and shoot -> assault again, or move on to a new target. You must remember that Autarchs (outside of Yriel, and even he struggles) are horridly outclassed by other races cc lords... so hook em up to a squad that can be as mobile as they (shining spears, or warp spiders) and carefully choose which squads to engage.
