Well, that's my question. If i want to use hobbie models of real vehicles to model it to make them "usable" for 40k, what's the most correct scale?

It is not a "Realistic" Scale, but the Models come out the right size.

GW official models are wide but short.

I prefer 1/35 for tanks because I like the bigger look and there is much more selection on the market than in 1/48. It wouldn't matter if you go with 1/48 as long as you don't mix scales in the army.

For aircraft you should definitely use 1/48. Aircraft are so large that if you use 1/32, you will end up with planes which cover half the table. Also, the selection is very poor in 1/32 compared to 1/48.

Look at the Soviet BMP vehicle.

and the German Marder.

You could also think about armoured cars.

I'd say either of those tanks are too big for 40k.

its just enough to find a model that matches (in my case) the lenght and wide of a chimera more nearly

GW models are all short and fat compared to real vehicles.

You can match the length in 1/48 but the width will be narrow. Or you can match the width in 1/35 but the length will be too long.

It also depends on your army: IG look "right" next to 1/48, but SM are a bit bulky to fit 10 in the back at that scale so 1/35's better for them.

Oddly enough you'll find you can mix scales as long as you keep each type of vehicle to 1 scale.

For example, I've GW stuff at "28mm Heroic" mixed with 1/32 Airfix halftracks, 1/35 BTR Armoured trucks and BMD tanks, and 1/48 Bren carriers.

Airfix 1/32 105mm light guns are exactly the same size (cannon barrel) as a Basilisk, yet the same cannon on Airfix 1/32 Abbot SPG looks more like a super-heavy.

Best advice is to try what you fancy, it's only a game for heaven's sake, and if you like it then it's OK.
