Subject: buildings with multiple structure points

I was playing a game last night and the other player was insisting that when they attack a building and get a penetrating hit that regardless of what the roll on the penetration roll was that it will still take away a structure point. I was on the other side thinking that it would only take a structure point damage when it suffered a wrecked or explodes result since anything lower is considered a shaken result since the building had no mounted weapons.
So my big question is who was correct?

What book are you using? Nothing in the Main Rulebook deals with Structure points on buildings...

They decided that based on the size that it should have multiples because it was actually a few building put together to be one.
Even if it were a normal building does anything lower than a 5 destroy it?

Ah I see.
Well, for a normal Building, anything other than a Wrecked or Explodes counts as Shaken, so make of that what you will.

This should really be moved to proposed rules.
I would suggest that if you have a truly massive building which is not modular (i.e. you can't take away a section at a time and treat each module as a separate building) then give it structure points and use the super-heavy vehicle damage table.

Buildings are surprisingly resilient - even an AV9 cardboard shack can absorb a dozen or so Lascannon shots before the attacker rolls a 5 or 6.
