And to elaborate - that's one for the CCS, one for the Chimera.

Command Squad worth? Is a Junior Officer and
his four Guardsmen worth 1 point or 2?
A. A Command Squad is an independent
character and his retinue, as defined on page 48
of the rulebook. The rulebook clearly states on
page 91 that a character and his retinue are worth
1 kill point each. Therefore the enemy gains 1 kill
point for killing the Junior Officer, and 1 kill
point for killing the accompanying Guardsmen.

It can be pretty confusing but the lazy and incompetent GW FAQ crew forgot to remove this artefact that refers to the 4th edition IG codex when they updated the FAQ and it should be ignored.
CCS and PCS are no longer ICs with retinues but normal units worth just the one KP. A chimera is it's own unit and therefore also worth one KP.

In one game turn an Imperial guardsman can move 6", kill a few guys with his flamer, assault 6", kill two more guys with his bayonet, flee 12", regroup when assaulted, react 6", kill one more guy with his bayonet and then flee another 12".
So in one game turn an Imperial guardsman can move 42" and kill more than 5 people. At the same time a Chimera at top speed on a road can move 18"...

Isn't it great when the faq gets things wrong. the J/o isn't an independent character any longer.
Is he even called a Junior officer anymore?

It's not so much a case of the FAQ getting it wrong as the FAW just not being updated when the codex was...

The Platoon Commander is called a Junior Officer, the Company Commander is called a Senior Officer. I had an argument with a buddy of mine back after the new codex came out about this because he was claiming the 2 KP thing against my CCS and so I politely (or not so politely in reality due to our heated to discussion) that the CCS was a senior officer if we were going by a ruling that was outdated. Better yet, he wanted to two kill points for the squad but wouldnt let me have the IC status to join other squads because the army listing didnt say he was an IC... /facepalm lol Anyways, everyone here has it spot on. Its one KP for the Chimera and one KP for the CCS
