Subject: Suggested Citadel Buildings?

Hello all, i have (finnaly) finished my playing board but it is very bare, all i have at the moment is the crashed site from the old introduction set and me and my mate are both looking for some nice interesting buildings for citys of death/ normal gameplay (seriously, the more terrain the better) so if anyone has any experience with the building set up by citadel (i love the feel/look of them) and which are the good bits to create your own unique buildings from would be greatly appreciated! (or any other tips)
Cheers,
Murray

I'd have to say the urban barricades look pretty smick... i recently picked up a couple and they look interesting to paint and would fit in well with what your hoping to do.
The manufactorium looks good built aswell, but the other ones look a tad samey, which would probably be a good thing, but imo, not sure.

I like the landing pad.
I guess it also doubles as a good display board for small squads /vehicle

hmm, the urban barricades seem pretty decent yet, i believe that i can do some home-made stuff like that - im mainly looking for buildings but... yea might as well get the defense line?
hmm, the manufactorum looks pretty decent (would anyone have a picture of the sprues by any chance)
and.. the landing pad - maybe.. has anyone had experience (gameplay) with the landing pad?

Gameplay wise, the landing pad is a confusing hodge-podge of rules.
It has an Armour value (like an intact building) yet grants a cover save to models on it (like intact buildings don't) like a ruin.
Mine generally has the rules:
Skimmers/jump/jetpack infantry may land on it without needing to make dangerous terrain tests (as it is designed for this purpose).
The platform crenellations can be tricky to get them to stay in place and the four platform sections interlock with each other in an over/under manner (with each other either as corners or halves.)

I bought quite a lot CoD buildings in all shapes to fill a board, sometimes mixing the kits.
Good addition is Pegasus Hobbies, Ziterdes and Armorcast

Being a huge fan of CoD, my advice would be to invest in the Imperial Sector: http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/productDetail.jsp?catId=cat1300036&prodId=prod1095509
Whilst it seems pricey, you end up with about £65 worth of material, and its dead easy to mix the kits.
The Shrine of the Aquilla is also a good building to blend with the CoD kits, but as a stan-alone piece, I don't think its worth its price.

Seconding the imperial sector; You get a whole lot of buildings for the money (depending on how you build them) and it also gives you lots of bits and pieces for mixing with other stuff.

For buildings/$$, the Imperial City and Sector boxes are good deals. City more so (but it was meant as a splash release for CoD). The sector set gives you essentially 4 buildings for the price of 3.
Seconding the Pegasus Gothic stuff, and some of the Ziterdes stuff is also epic (and good enough that it featured in two IG codices and several IG battle reps/writeups in WD). The tables can be hit or miss though.

hmm, would combining Basilica Administratum, Sanctum Imperialis and Manufactorum Building kits give the same result instead of just buying the sector (cheaper that way)?
oh, i have had zero experience with building... buildings, any tips on how to make them?
edit: just checked out the suggested sites from chromedog and Kroothawk, i swear ive seen that bastion used before - some pretty decent items but.. not really interested, maybe if i had some more cash

No, you get 1 and a half extra buildings in the Sector kit.

THAT bastion was used in 2nd and 3rd ed IG codices as well as several times in the 2nd ed period WD issues and a couple of times in the 3rd ed period (226+ ? 226 Aust, had a DE warrior on it.)
