by this i do not mean all of them. but two of them are very similar.
nurgle is pestilence and khorne is war.
about slaneesh and tzeentz i do not know but they do not match the profile of death and famine.
are the gods something similar to the warhammer world like the riders in our??

"Pestilence" is actually a bit of a misnomer. The rider on the white horse represents conquest, not disease.

Anuvver fing - when they do sumfing, they try to make it look like somfink else to confuse everybody. When one of them wants to lord it over the uvvers, 'e says "I'm very speshul so'z you gotta worship me", or "I know summink wot you lot don't know, so yer better lissen good". Da funny fing is, arf of 'em believe it and da over arf don't, so 'e 'as to hit 'em all anyway or run fer it.

nurgle could be famine then, and tzeetz could be conquest since its about change andpower. khorne fits war.

Those can be connected, however. Case in point, the Spanish vs. the Aztecs.

I think four was just chosen because it's a very solid, even number that gives you options without giving too many. Four Gods also means they can each have one rival. And even if this probably didn't figure into GW's logic, 4 is an unlucky number in a few cultures (Notably Japanese).

Almost all GW chaos is lifted from Moorcock books dating back to the 60`s and 70`s Gods, beastmen, special characters many of each are almost direct copies Eg=Prince Gaynor The Damned turned into Count Mordreck the Damned-check the books.
