Hey guys! What604 here. Im new to the community, so what better way to start than to get my list checked over for flaws. i will be playing mainly against SwanCo's dark eldar and chaos space marine armies, if any of you have seen his posts. i will also be playing against crimson fists, vanilla marines, eldar, and imperial guard.

ok so here it is, a 1500 pt. nid list

HQ
Flyrant (wings, lashwhip/bonesword, scything talons, regeneration, old adversary, paroxysm, psychic scream)
(275pts)

Tyranid Prime (lashwhip/bonesword, scything talons, regeneration)
(105pts)

Elites
Hive Guards (brood of 2)
(100pts)

Troops
Warriors (brood of 3 with deathspitters)
(105)

Termagants (1 brood of 14 with devourers)
(180pts)

Genestealer Brood (1 Broodlord with scything talons + 10 Genestealers with scything talons)
(222pts)

Hormagaunts (1brood of 10 with toxin sacks)
(80pts)

Fast Attack
Gargoyles (1 brood of 10)
(60pts)

Heavy Support
Carnifexes (regeneration)
(370)

and thats about it. just for a note, i made the flyrant right before the new codex came out (didn't know it was), so i had to convert him again to get the lashwhip and bonesword back on, so don't criticize him, I mean I don't have all the money in the world

Thanks in advance!

P.S. is it ok if i don't post my win/loss streak till i actually win a game? because otherwise its 0-1-9 and i don't think its fair to count some of those because i just started an I'm playing with people who have been playing for years.

zoanthropes and hive guard are great. lesser gaunts aren't great in the new codex unless you go for tervigon. carnifexs are good but would look at trygons. looked at flying tyrant but lots of points would prob only go for one hq. if you can make them boneswords are great for combat

I must agree with the above post, too many points in the HQ takes away from the swarm aspect of the army. spend less buffing up big guys and put more into swarming me

nope, yesterday jason came over and we did me and jason against chase. My incubi got killed 3rd turn by tau (wasn't close combat, but shows that you just need to shoot them up from a distance)

First off take Regen off of your big bugs. With four wounds most of time your TMCs won't be able to heal before dying, especially the Tyranid Prime.

I'm confused by the Warriors' role. With the Prime they have a beatface CC character that buffs them, but the units focused on shooting. Adding Boneswords would definitely make them an all round nastier unit.

You over pointed the Termagaunts by 40 pts. Devourers are pretty fricking good, they're the only way I would take gaunts without Tervigons.

Swap the Scything Talons on the Stealers for Toxin Sacs. Genestealers hit almost everything on a 3+ already, the Toxin Sacs will let you re-roll to wound against T4 and lower so you can squeeze more Rends out.

Bulk up the Hormagaunt and Gargoyle squads, they both attract a lot of fire because of their speed. Not a big fan of Toxin Sacs on the Hormies since you can get them for cheaper on Gargoyles and both units perform a similar role.

Ok I'll look into that, i was wondering if the prime is able to join other squads than warriors, even if they don't give the squad bonuses.

One question, if i put toxin sacks on the genestealers, wont that just change the wound roll to 4+ for everything, how would this change my reroll? Sorry if it's a stupid question, but i thought poison only changed the wound roll.

I also don't know what to buff up the hormagaunts and gargoyles with if they need protection

Thanks for the tips I'll see what I can do

Oh and the warriors Role is to keep the termies in synapse range

Yes.

Check the last part of the Poisoned weapons paragraph on pg. 42 of the main rulebook.

Sorry, I meant increase the size of the squads.

Oh, and you'll want to split the Carnifexes into two separate units. They'll be more flexible that way.
