Ok so i think that i could count all my normal csm as grey hunters. My adepts of pain(converted beserkers to look slenneshi) as those close combat troop guys (cant remember the name but they are troops.) use all my vehicles as normal. get rid of my oblits and noise marines and get rid of my Daemon princes and use wolf priests.
i also have a fluff write up idea for it,
this is the rough draft, slennesh force fights fight space wolves, they are losing so they manipulate the chapter into serving slennesh, The only original slennesh guys would be the sorcerers under cover as wolf priests.
what does everyone think i like it because it allows me to have another army without a huge money sink.

1. its SLAANESH, not slennesh. 2. space wolves never go chaos (other than 13th company + sons of pus, but they are just badass) 3. space wolves are the least slaaneshi of all the chapters, seriously at least use blood angels or something. 4. "having another army without spending any money" is generally considered a cheap and unsportsmanlike way to go about things, at least put some effort into your hobby.

Yeah, it feels like a stretch. You've got Slaanesh marines, with Slaanesh berzerkers. That's enough of a stretch for me, but then making Slaanesh Space Wolves is just too much.
The only chaos god I can see working for Space Wolves woul be Nurgle reanimating their bodies to use as zombie plague marines- I don't think it would fit with the Wolves to go to Chaos.

You can always use he Slaaneshi models as count-as Space Wolves. I wouldn't suggest having fluff that involves the Wolves at all, just use their Codex.
Also, proxies and count-as are not an unsportsmanlike (@corpsesarefun 1. its UNSPORTSMANLIKE, not unsportsmanly.) way to go about the hobby. If you play with a fun group of friends, I'm sure they wouldn't mind you trying out Space Wolves with your current models.

Thanks for the correction.
Proxies and countas are not unsportsmen like, being unable to be bothered to put the work in to make another army and so just using some rules for you current army is.

If they are WYSIWYG I wouldn't have a problem with it.
You realize that you don't have to come up with all that fluff though, right? They can just be Slaanshi Chaos Marines that use the Space Wolf rules.

If only this were true. But thanks to the travesty that is the worst codex ever, Codex: Renegade Space Marines, Space Wolves will apparently turn traitor and crawfish on the Emperor at the drop of a hat.
The number one reason i refuse to field either of my 2 chaos armies, and the reason i left the game altogether until just recently.

Field whatever rules you want.
As long as the opponent is clear which one you are using and things are WYSIWYG, you are good.

This is a little story about four people named Everybody, Somebody, Anybody, and Nobody.
There was an important job to be done and Everybody was sure that Somebody would do it.
Anybody could have done it, but Nobody did it.
Somebody got angry about that because it was Everybody's job.
Everybody thought that Anybody could do it, but Nobody realized that Everybody wouldn't do it.
It ended up that Everybody blamed Somebody when Nobody did what Anybody could have done.

From what I understand of the new SW codex it is hard but not impossible for SW to turn Chaos. IMHO, those that went and sided with Huron basically decided a pirates life was for them.
Do what you want but realize that some people might have issue but just explain to them your story or what you are intending and I am sure most everyone will be OK.

I don't understand why you'd need to use the Space Wolves codex to field this force. You already have basic Chaos Marines who are armed identically to Grey Hunters, you already have berserkers, and why would you bother throwing out your Noise Marines and Oblits? If you were Khorneariffic I could see it, but there's nothing supporting your playstyle with the Space Wolves codex.

Maybe he likes Counter Attack more than I5...
Maybe he likes a codex with a stronger background section that the Codex Chaos Bland Marines.

When did background start affecting the playing of games? He doesn't need to use Space Wolf rules to read the Space Wolf background.
