Ok, this one's been running a while, longer than I've been posting here, but I've just dropped back onto it from Ultras...

The complete commission is a Belial, 2 Shooty squads, an Assault squad and a Land Raider.

Just finished the Assault Squad today, have another shooty squad and a load of magnetised arms to do as well as Belial's banner.

Awesome work, that land raider is magnificient. I just think squad Turiel needs a bit more colors (green)..but thats just me.

That is fantastic work. The Landraider is one of the best ive ever seen.

Some awesome work right there. I like the color you've used for their armor, it looks a lot better than the bone-yellow most people seem to favor for Deathwing. Keep us updated

Regarding the colour balance in each unit - this can be adjusted a bit as all the arms and heavy weapon torso's / cyclones are magnetised. :-)

It's a combination of sponge and stipple methods using plain ol' boltgun metal.

Love the land raider, its a different aproach to the DA but it works

Beautiful scheme on the LR! I love the green "highlights" you went with. Not too much, but keepts it from looking too bland. Nicely done.

Did the banner on Belial yesterday.



Done as a conversion of a standard Terminator Captain metal miniature. The metal figure is substantially smaller than the modern plastic Terminators, so he's been mounted on a largish piece of slate to bring the height up a bit. Combined with the banner he's imposing enough. The robe and heraldry has been sculpted with greenstuff. The skull on the banner pole was also sculpted, to cover where the feet of the Eagle that was removed from the pole were.

This was a fun commission, although I'm going to resist the urge to say 'hey let's magnetise everything' to a client again. It's a lot of work.

I'm a fan of the white (old school) Deathwing. Really nice work you've done.

How long did it take from start to finish. I may need to hit you up for some BA.

I'd say around 6 - 8 weeks solid work from sprue to packing case. This one was split amongst other work, and is completely magnetised, which added a lot of work in prep time.

Beautiful work from base to banner and everything in between. 2 months seems reasonable considering the finished product. Do you have any completed Blood Angels? I didn't see anything on your blog.

WOW these look like crap...... NOT!!!

The white you have done on the terminators is one of the best aged white paint jobs I have ever seen, they look aged without looking like they are soaked in dirt and or are under horrific disrepair. Top notch work keep up the picks!!

No, nearer £700, by the time you rack up all the conversion work and extra parts. Like I said, 2 months' work.

It's true I forgot about the magnetization. Did you provide the models as well or did the client send them over?

Btw, I am not questioning the value of your work at all, I think you deserve every penny, just curious!

No worries.

With these, the client ordered the models and bits through me, with a slight discount. I make no money on that at all and the cost of models isn't included in the £700 work bill.

Landraider looks abit too scrappy on the front but other than that perfectional! Oh and how did you do that base?
