I havent actauly got a case to take my minis in yet i was wondering what other cases people use apart from the GW ones?

Feldherr Maxi cases are good - you can get about 160mm deep plus foam toppers in total, and you can mix and match the foam you use.

I typically have two trays of "GW standard" miniature foam, which hold 36 models and are 25mm deep, and 2 tank trays - 60mm raster foam (so you can pop out only the bits of foam you want, meaning you can make them fit snugly) - they also do 100mm deep foam for the BIG stuff.

Just make sure you order the self adhesive foam, and enough foam "toppers" to go on them

As an example with this system I got 2 macharius Vulcan (baneblade sized, almost) AND a baneblade in 1 case.

Hard plastic Pistol cases. You can usually pick them up for $10-$20 though I don 't know about price in the UK. I find the bumps in the foam hold infantry really well or you can cut depressions into the foam for your vehicles / bigger models.

Camera equipment cases can be had for cheap if you just want the case - feldherr are good for the various foam bits and pieces as well.

Have an ancient beat up camera case but it will be okay for tanks

We have a few - they just dont stack in piles *quite* as well as hard cases. YOu can fit most of a GW "tank case" into one, much more convenient package however!
