Hey people,

At my local model store,they are selling off inquisitor stuff for a VERY low price,

And I thought I might as well just start a new game

Any one can explain me the game?

I have one inquisitor right now

If you have a look at the link below you'll find an article that I wrote as an introduction to the game;
http://www.the-conclave.co.uk/index.html
Or you can find an earlier (but better formatted version of the article here.)

If you have any more questions, let me know - always happy to talk to people interested in Inquisitor.

From having skimmed the rules the characters are a lot more like 'suggestions.' You can build him as shown, are combine with parts from other Inquisitor-scale kits to make characters that you want.

Working on someting you'll either love or hate. Hopefully to be revealed by November.
Play the games that make you happy.

Eisenhorn's rules are in the rulebook, which can be downloaded from the GW website. He's the same character as featured in Dan Abnett's novels, so there's plenty of background for him.

However as Balance says, almost no one uses the sample characters - people tend to make up their own characters, usually by converting the models, but sometimes just by giving them a different paintjob. Converting 54mm models is pretty easy - the larger scale makes it less fiddly and bits are easy to come by (especially if you can by models that cheaply!). You'll also find that the 'heroic' scale of the 28mm range means that a lot of 40k parts work perfectly on 54mm models. (The same goes for 28mm terrain - it works great for Inquisitor.)

To tell the truth I never thought they were all that good, character generation was basically 'make some stuff up' and the idea was the GM would balance things by fudging dice rolls and the like.

But they were some nice models.

I'd have said that the freedom to 'make some stuff up' is the best thing about the character generation process - the chance to create any character I want is far more exciting and interesting to me that the very formulaic processes used in most games. As for balance - it is difficult to make Inquisitor fair and balanced, the rules (deliberately) aren't set up for that. But again, that's one of the big plus points about the game for me - sometimes my warband is more powerful than my opponent's (in which case I'd expect the GM to give me more difficult objectives), sometimes the reverse is true. In all the time I've been playing I've never found it necessary to fudge dice roles to make things more fair (to make the story/game more interesting maybe). As long as everyone has a chance to achieve their objectives and everyone has fun, then there's no sense worrying about games of Inquisitor being fair and balanced. It be a difficult concept for people used to points-based games like 40k, and I appreciate that it's not a style of gaming that suits everyone, but those people who like the Inquisitor ethos tend to really like it.
