DEPLOYMENT
I won the roll-off and decided to deploy first. Having never played my opponent I wanted to be very cautious and control the pace of the game. I deployed my two Ork Mobs, Grimskraga and Gobsmasha at the front of my half of the table. I deployed Ghaz with Gobsmasha, for the only reason but to pick him up when the Nobz rolled onto the table.

My opponent sured up his objective in his deployment, deploying Abbadon, a Rhino filled with CSM, as well as another squad of CSM.

We both placed objectives in our half of the table, very inaccessible to the other. I could tell that we both had the same idea here. Both were playing for a tactical draw. I figured that I could make one solid push for his objective and if it failed I wouldn’t be too bad off.
TURN 1
TOP
The Kans, the Nobz Trukk and the two squads of Lootas came onto the board. The Kans split the difference between Grimskraga and Gobsmasha, for fire support. The Trukk picked up Ghaz and Was to race to solidifly my objective. Grimskraga advanced on the objective and fired a barrage of Big shootas at the Rhino transport, knocking out a weapon. Gobsmasha advanced on the middle of the table and fired on the CSM in cover, dealing no damage.

BOTTOM
His Khorne Berserkers and Dreadnought rolled onto my right flank just in front of Gobsmasha. The CSM on his objective fired at Grimskraga dealing a few deaths. The Rhino dropped its CSM’s, moved forward and popped smoke. It was clear where this game was going from turn one.
CSM 1, Orks 0
TURN 2
TOP
This was where I made my push. I walked right into his trap, but the assault lasted long enough that both of our units were tied up. With Abbadon near his objective, it was going to take a miracle for him not to hold it at the end of the game. Grimskraga moved forward, shot, and assaulted the CSM in the building. He did a great job of baiting me into this assault. He was able to get all of his unit into the assault, while I was funneled in and was short on numbers. We both rolled well, I lost the assault and took some Fearless wounds. I knew more or less this was my chance to take his objective. It failed miserably, so I changed my strategy on the fly.

BOTTOM
He tried some pop-shots on Mob Gobsmasha with the Rhino, killing one. He advanced the Dreadnaught toward Gobsmasha. His termies came in and he planted then right in front of the building his objective was in, choosing the fate of this game even further. With all of our troop choices tied up in assault and the objectives so far apart, you could see this was going to be a draw.

CSM 1, Orks 0
TURN 3
The Kans and Lootas fired on his Termies, taking out 3 of them (I love the KMB on Kans!). Great LOS for the Kans and Lootas on the Termies!

Grimskraga this time drew with his CSM choice on the objective. Gobsmasha finally got the Nob into combat and he destroyed a CCW on the Dreadnaught, but could not win the battle. I dedided to run the Nobz and Ghaz to my Objective.
BOTTOM
Grimskraga and the CSM battled it out, and in a battle of attrition, Nob Grimskraga was the lone survivor. Between his Dreadnaught, Termies and Khorne Berzerkers, he was able to wipe out Mob Gobsmasha while I was able to Destroy his Dreadnaught. Units dying all over. Both Objectives solidly held. UGH.

Grimskraga Consolidates as far away from Abbadon as possible!
CMS 1, Orks 1
TURN 4
My Koptas finally came in from reserve. They fired on the rest of the Termies and finished them off. The Lootas finished off his disembarked Berzerkers. The Kans immobilized the Transport. Nothing can move no troops left. Draw is imminent. Looking back, I should have kept Turbo boosting my Koptas to contest his Objective, but completely forgot to.
Koptas Race on the board!

BOTTOM
He moves empty transports. We look at each other. Call the game a draw.
FINAL
TACTICAL DRAW
FINAL BOARD POSITION:

Nice report. C:SM are tough for us orks. THay all think you can just charge in with 60 boyz and kill gak. Abbadon and beserkers will ruin an orks day. Mabey should have been more aggressive twards his deathstar with ur nobz and planting one of ur 30 boyz mob on ur objective. but I play pretty aggressivly to see what will happen most the time. Helps me know what I can actually assualt.

I could have used the Nobz to go after the objective, but I was tired from the previous game and really didnt feel like losing this game. It was easy to try one push for the win, and settle for the draw.
