After playing with Sanguinary Priests my love of FNP has grown exponentially. Then I thought "why not have FNP and an acting toughness of 5" So, I cracked open my Chaos Codex and made myself a list. The Lascannon Preds blast vehicles. The Dread and Dakka Pred blast infantry formations. And, the Plague Marines do what they do best, irritate the enemy The Lash Prince A.K.A the Fat, pustular, Nurgle Prince with the Tentacles of Nurgle controls enemy movement and slams vehicles or infantry when necessary.

It's pretty basic, but I was looking for the thoughts of Plague Veterans. Any words of wisdom are welcome.

If you want to use a cool walker and dedicate it, do not use the soul of petty men. Field yourself a Plague Defiler. They already have cool names, and the daemon possessed has to be one of four gods essence.

It's just a better model, a big plague crab that gives you incredible range. I personally just don't like using a chaos dreadnought since they rampage on you 1/6, which is probably at least once.

Here's a really awesome idea as well Drop one of your plasma marine squads, for a CSM x 10 squad w Icon of Chaos Glory (you can kit them all learning towards nurgle since you'll have nurgle pieces everywhere) And with the extra points you save, get lesser daemons!! You now get to field more awesome little plague daemons that can hold back objectives for you.

I like the pred gun line. I know having FNP on all of your troops is awesome, but getting a little more troops and flexibility is cool too.

Just my thoughts

You make interesting points. I do love the defiler model, but I'll be losing a pred and a dread, and gaining an additional battle cannon and melee goodness. I won't have to remove an extra squad of plague marines to get the demons, which I had been considering, because I'll have points left from the swap out.

Lash Prince is still a Lash Prince, if you want stronger fluff background, you'd just call it Nurgle's Dance, which is essentially the same thing .

Plague marines, 8 is no a fluffy number.

Dread: nice addition with respect to the amount of armor you have at 1500.

Preds are ok.

This is a little story about four people named Everybody, Somebody, Anybody, and Nobody.
There was an important job to be done and Everybody was sure that Somebody would do it.
Anybody could have done it, but Nobody did it.
Somebody got angry about that because it was Everybody's job.
Everybody thought that Anybody could do it, but Nobody realized that Everybody wouldn't do it.
It ended up that Everybody blamed Somebody when Nobody did what Anybody could have done.

Thanks for the post. I'm kinda hoping the dread freaks out and sprints across the field and smash things in a relatively insane fashion. What exactly is the fluffiest Plague Marine number?

7

It's the best number there is.

7.

Since you have no blast weapons there isnt any point having a lash prince over a warptime prince. Lash is fantactic when you can stack blast markers on your opponent, but only ok otherwise. Nurgle princes with warp time are awsome killing machines for their points.

Your dread cant have two heavy flamers. Remember that it has exactly the same chance of standing still and dribbling that it has of running towards the nearest enemy. It really dont rate them at all.

If we were to play each other in a tournament, not only would I table you, I would murder you, your family, every woman you ever loved and burn down your house. I mean, what's the point in winning if you allow people that don't take the game seriously to live?

The list looks pretty good. It is both fairly fluffy, and reasonable competitive. Squad size of 7 is more Nurgly, though. Also, I'm pretty sure you can only have one Heavy Flamer on your Dreadnought. The Codex entry states that "A single twin-linked bolter may be upgraded to a Heavy Flamer..."

If you make those reductions you have enough to get a minimum sized unit of Lesser Daemons, and a pair of Personal Icons for your troops. That way you can leave some Daemons sitting at home while your marines go out spreading around their favorite plague.

Another option would be to use the points to upgrade one of your Preds to a Defiler for templatey goodness.

Drop the PM's down to 7 each. This gives you 72 extra points (with the 3 extra you already had). Change one plasma squad to melta (which gives you 10 more points). Now you have 82 free points

Turn the Dakka Pred into a Vindicator with Possession.

This leaves 37 points. Change your DP to Nurgle/Wings/Warptime.

This leaves 17 points. Extra armor on a Predator? Havoc Missile Launcher? Plasma Cannon on the Dread?

This is what I would do.

All great replies Thank you. I thought that you could upgrade any TL-bolter to a H Flamer. He's got two dreanought CC weapons thus he also has two TL-bolters. I'll recheck when I get home. 7 is the number of Nurgly Goodness, then I shall have to reform

I was just saying x10 CSM w/ weapons + rhino and Power fist is about 75 points cheaper than the plague marines. That's enough to upgrade a dread to a defiler if you wanted. Or get Lesser Daemons to "sit home" while the marines spread the plague! Whoever said that I liked the imagery
