Hell

I personally think that you're going a bit overzealous on the upgrades of your forces. For Guard, you need numbers. Focus more on getting more soldiers in your platoons, maybe more platoons if you can afford the points.

Incinerating your hopes

I see this list and think one thing "squishy." Those Guard squads will be wiped out or running off of the battle field in no time. And the way your command squads are kitted out are pretty bad. CCS's can take 4 special weapons, it's highly recommended that you do. And Guard should never be in CC, they'll lose, period. Your sentinels are fine, but separate them into three choices to get some target saturation in there. I would also recommend getting some Chimera. They're awesome, cheap, and way better than naked bodies with a +5 armor save clumsily trotting towards the enemy gun line.

I think it's cool that you're doing the fluff thing, but I also think that you don't want to lose all the time. It sucks losing all the time and, right now, you're going to.

Sitting on the roof of my house with a shotgun, and a six pack of beers

Hi

First IG ain't a CC side, but as you want to stick to a theme I try and keep all comments within it.

The CCS one plasma ain't going to do much, if you drop him you can get a bodyguard fo more CC plus protection for the Company commander. Medics are pricey but if you are determined to get into CC it 's probably a good choice.

Your vox network is a little poor if you don't mind me saying. The PCS have got worse orders than the CCS and only one other squad has one. I'd drop it and spend the points else where. Like extra Flamers in PCS, they should be maxed out as possible.

ML's I don't like them they are a jack of all trades, you are paying for diversity that can be achieved better for the same points with a mortar and AC. Also the flamer in this squad is a waste as it will won't be range most of the time.

Melta's in the infantry squads won't do anything, BS 3 means you'll miss half the time and only one shot. If you wan't melta put 3 in a vet squad or get a devil dog.

If you want to go melee make an infantry blob, put a commissar, power weapons and (to keep to the theme) a priest.

Penal legions are poor.

Love armored sentinels but IMHO only the plasma variants are worth taking. Also run them seperatley. Drop the smoke.

Tyler Dude is right, guard are about numbers and your spending a lot of point on units that are fluffy or in effective.

More bodies, far to squishy. . .

If you're doing a foot force you need tons of boots on the ground. Otherwise mech up.

You Don't Need To Capitalise Every Word In Every Sentence. Why Would You Do That?

Ok, I'll try and critique individual units first, then give my opinion on the army as a whole.

Demolishers, or any other tank, should never take HF sponsons. Read the rules on moving and firing main weapons - essentially you'll never use more than 1 HF, and you don't want a LR to be so close to the enemy anyway, their weaknesses are meltaguns and assault.

Armoured sentinels just aren't good - too expensive for what you get. Why not take 2x2 scout sentinels instead? That way your guns can outflank to target side and rear armour, and you're getting more for your money.

Company commanders shouldn't take any personal upgrades like PWs. A squad of 5 I3 guardsmen just won't survive long enough to make any use of the upgrades, and a single S3 model can't win any combats. Keep them cheap! In this list, how about either 4 meltaguns and a chimera, or a regimental standard and a HWT or 2 longer-ranged special weapons?

PCS - same rule about upgrading the officer. Since the unit has a fairly poor BS, this is a good place to put flamers.

Priest - in this size game, he's wasted points. He'd only really be worth it with 30+ guardsmen in a blob, including lots of PWs, and you don't have the points for that. Cut him altogether IMO.

Infantry squads. Missile launchers are outclassed by autocannons against most targets. I think every squad should have a heavy and a special weapon.

Mortars - the problem with these, is a lot of enemies will be mechanised, many will be marines, etc. Effectively, a lot of armies will just laugh at mortars. I think autocannons, or maybe lascannons, would be a lot more useful.

Penal legion - eh, some people like 'em. Personally, I'd reassess my points and try for a second platoon, or a squad of veterans with a chimera.

Overall, I think you should concentrate on getting cheap bodies on the field (ie platoons w/cheap ranged weapons) and a CCS w/standard to keep them around. Then make sure your sentinels/demolisher/HWSs have enough heavy firepower to deal with hard targets.

Sorry probably should have asked this earlier but how much of this list is built? are you trying to build a list with what you have or can we rip this list apart.
