I recently sold my Sony α100 and have decided to purchase a new, cheaper digital camera purely for macro photography. That is, I want to take pictures of my toy soldiers. I'm having a hard time deciding purely due to the huge digital camera market. My $100 to $200 cameras all seem fine at taking pictures.

Its the distance + lighting that effects the majority of the quality.
