So this is my new BA list, it is supposed to be an all around list but any critisism would be appreciated!

So it is exactly 1500.. The tactica is since everything is either fast or can deep strike I have a pretty mobile army so I'm staying away from rhinos/razorbacks.. The Chaplain goes with the Death Company to re-roll hits and wounds, with the 3 weapons in the DC for wound allocation. My troops have feel no pain and I have 6 Melta Guns so I took the Whirlwinds for anti infantry however I'm thinking about taking out a member of the DC and replacing the 2 Whirlwinds with Dakka Preds? what do you think? they can target light vechicles but they don't ignore cover or cause pinning like the Whirlwinds..

I think you would be better with Dakka Preds because Whirlwinds tend to not like weapon destroyed results much.

I would also swap out the hand flamer in the DC for an Infernus pistol, just because they rage, doesn't mean they can't shoot a transport dead and charge the guys inside.

I would also consider shaving some points off of the Assault Squad by not taking Powerfists, rather Power Weapons. A fist cost more and kinda defeats the purpose of having FC on that unit. You already have meltaguns for tanks and dangerous CC units.

Looks like a good start.

I would drop the Reclusiarch and grab a Librarian w/Jump Pack. There's nothing that he can't do better and for less points than the Reclusiarch. Drop the DC, they're a massive point sink, they don't score, and someone can play games with them "Oh look that shiny rhino is driving away, I better chase it" type of thing. Grab another Assault Squad instead. It would put more scoring bodies on the field and give you some more points to spend elsewhere. Drop the Whirlys. The assault squads are their own form of anti-infantry. Grab the Dakka Preds or Preds with AC/LC config. Other than that I agree with what was said above.

@Grim Smasha - The thing is, I play vs mostly Nids and Eldar so psychc test are very risky.. and with no invul Librarians aren't that great..

That gives you even more reason to take a Librarian. With him, you can nerf their powers as well. A big nerf fest, as it were. That could be game changing when you stop a Farseer from using Doom or Guide for a turn.

I'm kind of with Grim on this one. A chance to shut off your opponents "buffs" with the psychic hood really keeps them down to your level. Without psychic support for armies like Eldar things can decay quickly for them especially when you're in their face with your assault marines. Just be strategic with which units you take out first and you've effectively shut down your opponent's HQ just as he's shut down yours.

The libby can give the squad preferred enemy in their assault phase if you take the power for it.

He can give it to you every assault phase if he doesn't block the power, or against those without psychic defense.

Or you know.. you fight against a rune priest. Those guys are really mean vs psykers because its a simple 4+ negation no contest no nothing just a roll if I win you dont get to use your power.

Another one for the Pred with sponson lascannon. It's not very impressive in a vanilla Marine list, but with the BA Fast it suddenly becomes a very nice unit - all the gun are long range, you can potentially get 4 hits, and it can move and shoot. Grim Smasha pointed it out to me, and I'm already building one (just wish I could get the lascannon onto the improved Baal sponson mounts).

i think whirlwinds are only good in groups. (A Min of 2) But I agree the DAKKA preds are better. I think you will be more satisfied with them

You know what though. I would test out the whirlwinds and see how you do with them. I'm kinda curious.

@Vagorin: I used the whirlwinds against a Eldar list.. I whiped out and entire squad of dire avengers and thats about it because nothing else got out of their transports :( ..

& Yea, I think I will try the librarian.. do you guys suggest any specific powers or should I choose depending on who/what I'm facing ?

A good mix for me has been Unleash rage and Sanguine Sword. Its always nice to reroll hits, especially when you want to keep your priests alive longer than their first combat. And I take Sanguine Sword because every now and then a Dread gets the drop on you.
