Does the Wight king loose killing blow if someone casts bears anger on him.

Wight Blade Text
Any normal weapon carried by a Wight King has magical attacks (but all of the normal rules for that weapon still apply). The weapons also has Killing Blow special rule. These Wight Blade rules are ignored if the Wight King has a magic weapon from the Artifacts of Death.

Bears anger
This spell may be cast upon the Wizard himself or any single friendly character within 12" of him, no line of sight is required. The spell can only be cast on a model with a unit strength of 1 (it won’t work on a mounted model or a model riding in a chariot, for example), even if engaged in close combat. The target becomes as wild and powerful as a mighty bear. He adds +3 Attacks, +2 Strength, and +1 Toughness to his characteristics. He cannot wield a weapon nor use a shield whilst using this spell.

Argument against -- A Wight is by default equipped with a mundane Wight blade which counts as a hand weapon with the properties of magical w/killing blow. Bear’s anger gives you a boost to str/att/tough but it says that you cannot use a weapon. Why not simply state that all of a Wight’s attacks are magical and have killing blow, what is the purpose of the Wight blades rule?

Argument for -- According to what is said above, there is only one way in which he would killing blow, and that is if he took a magic weapon from the artifacts of Death section. Furthermore his hands/claws are a normal weapon.

Yes, he loses Killing Blow.

The requirements are the Wight King has to CARRY a weapon - you dont "carry" your hands, meaning you dont get the benefits of Killing Blow as you dont have a normal weapon to use it with.

How did a vampire player cast bears anger on wight lord? "Bears anger This spell may be cast upon the Wizard himself or any single friendly character within 12" of him" I thought the only lore vampires have access to is the vampire lore?

njpc, there's a vampiric power called 'Forbidden Lore'. The vampire learns all of one rulebook lore/lore of vampires.

I've never actually seen a VC player take anything other than their own lore! Good to know, thank you. Interesting choice lore of beast.

With Beast Cowers you can stop a dragon, or Demon monster from attacking.
With bears anger you can make one of your vamps have 6 attacks, at str 7, or make the wight kings have 6 attaks at str6..
With wolf hunts and another vamp/book casting dance you can move a unit an extra 2d6+8". So the Black knights without barding can potentially move 2d6+8+16=26-36" in 1 turn. Helps get that charge off on turn 1.

I'm assuming you mean greater demon with this, in which case beast cowers doesn't work since GD's are also characters as well as monsters...

No killing blow. I talked this over with a Grey Knight at a GT. Even if there is room to question the wording the intention is clear enough.
