Long-Range Ultramarine Land Speeder Pilot

Hey guys n gals,
I am thinking I need some guitar wire to use as ribbed tubing on something I'm working on, but I don't even know what to ask for in the music store.
Anyone know what I am looking for ? Its to use as heavy duty power cabling.
What should I ask for in the music store ?
Thanks.

Go to walmart and buy cheep strings made for bass guitars.
I picked up a 3 foot long strand for a dollar.

Won't it be quite difficult to bend?

Its not to bad, if it is giving you problems you can just heat it up with a butane lighter.

I suppose bending isn't the problem, but shape retention.
I can see fire solving that, though.

I use an 'E' string, myself.
Works well, and I've not run out of it yet (it has been 4 years since I got the string).
Brass-wound, steel core.
Bend with two pairs of pliers (one to hold, one to bend). Cut with wire-cutters (proper ones, not GW's sprue cutters).
It will puncture skin if you aren't careful though. Eye protection MUST be worn if you don't want to accidentally blind yourself.

I always go to the local music store and ask for the old/used and discarded string. They re-string guitars regularly as they get played in store or when they do tune-ups etc.

The power cables sold by Dragon Forge are much better than guitar wire (IMO). They are cast pewter and come in different sizes for around $7. They are perfect to bend and shape as needed.
