I don't like to use the 'standard' configurations of crisis suit. This list has been streamlined about as much as possible, and is designed to cripple a large part, if not all, of the enemies tanks (if mech, and lets face it - who isnt?) or monstrous creatures - key units - by the end of turn 2. Wanted to take the full 6 'Sides but just couldnt find the points. Variations include swapping in a positional relay or Targeting Array by un-twin-linking everything to the Burst/AFP HQ, and losing the 2 man Broadside squad for another Ionhead or Skyray, and adding an extra Crisis suit or two (in this case, I'd probably lose one of the HQ suits as well and take a 2nd, identical, Aurora team. I do really like taking 2 Ionheads, its just more and more the need for more than the standard 3 Broadasides occurs, and the list has to be able to deal with 3/6 landraider lists as well as full ork mobs.

The 2 HQs form a 2 man unit so could potentially swap the AFP Shas'EL for a 'Vre Bodyguard, or join the other teams if necessary. The bonding effect applies to the unit despite the independant characters being a higher rank than the Knife holder.

Pirahnas Turbo-Boost, And 2nd turn melta something. The Plasma/Flamer suits attempt to take objectives alongside the Warfish and/or the Devilfish for cover. Kroot outflank - don't normally use them (I like 'Pure' Tau, but theyre just so damn cheap!). Finally, the Aurora suits stay out of rapid fire range until the fast-movers are broken and can be cleaned up.

In my opinion, Gun Drones beat Shield Drones on 3+ save models - and the extra 2 shots can help push the scales in wound allocation.

Thoughts? Constructive criticism? Just please no advice to take Railheads/Firestorms/Knives!

Also noticed I seem to be 2 points over my limit - ideas where to lose them? Methinks the Twin-Linked Burst Cannon.

Thank you for reading.

*EDIT* Realised a couple of individual points costs were wrong, after having swapped the TLBurst Cannon and Target Lock on Broadside Team Leader for a Targeting Array on the first 'El. Then realised the totalcost was wrong. Duly corrected, apologies for a double-edit!

Not a bad list I am persoanlly not a fan of twin linked burst cannons. I would rather bring a plasma gun. or a burst cannon and maybe twin linked missle pods. But thats just me.

Your broadsides were a bit hard to figure out I think you are bringing two per squad? have you played this list per chance? i think with Gundrones is just fail. Shield drones or nothing.

how many Suites per eletes choice?

Ah sorry, to make it clear: One 3-man team, all with advanced stabilization system, then one 2-man team with targeting arrays. Both with a team leader, bonding knife, and 2 shield drones apiece.

Its laid out like so:

Squad Name: Points cost
Squad Member 1, loadout
Squad Member 2, loadout
(Squad Member 3, loadout, etc)

It hasnt copied the Bold formatting on the squad names over properly >.<

On crisis suits I find shield drones a bit of a waste really - my attitude is if you get to move in the assault phase, you should be getting a cover save at all times! Especially with the bulky Devilfish as mobile terrain. The majority toughness rule means the opponent is really always going to be wounding vs toughness 4, so basically its 50% more cost for +1 save, and no shooting, which can help add even one extra wound to allocation. I used to always play with Shield drones, then tried a mix, then tried just Gun drones, and their survivability has barely changed at all. Theres very little excuse for not getting a cover save against instant-kill weapons with the 50% obscured rule, with a 2 suit/2 drone team. Shield drones become more understandable for larger squads such as Shas'El + 3 man squad as their large footprint means a cover save, without being packed in and template vulnerable, is harder to attain.

Taking Twin-Linked Burst Cannons on suits as their only weapon is probably a bad idea (Pseudo stealth suits perhaps?), I just thought its a bit of extra accuracy for the Aurora Team leader for little cost. The multi-shot weapon loadouts mean wounds should get allocated to 'special' squad members, such as meltagun carriers, which is invaluable, and I prefer the reliably killy Plasma Rifle to Missile Pod for infantry. Also thinking about Swapping out the Burst for Plasma on the HQ suits - its just finding the points!

Given the restrictions you listed, there isn't much more to do to the list.

Only thing: The Ionhead will likely be targeting all infantry, so shaving off the TL shouldn't really hurt. Yes, maybe there'll be light transports (rhinos) for the IonCan, but you've the XV88s for that.
