Dawn of War

Tyranid List

Hive Tyrant ( lash + duel devourers + Elctor Thorax Grub + Old Adversary + Hive Commander ) + 3 Body Guard
x2 Units of 3/2 Zoanthropes
x2 Units of Hormaguants ( 10-15 per unit I think )
2 Units of Tyranid Warriors ( Bone Swords + Lashs )5-8 per unit
Bases of Rippers
3 Carnifex's in one unit

World Eaters

x2 Librarians + Jump Packs + Blood Lance + Shield of Sanguinis + Epistolary
x2 Apothicarians + Jump Packs
x6 10 Man Assault Marines + x2 Melta + Inferno Pistol + Powerfist

Decent Terrain on both sides and both objectives were directly across from each other. Tyranid player took his Tyrant + Body Guard and a pack of Hormagaunts and Warriors as his deploying force. Mine was a 10 man + Librarian + Apoth attached, and another Assault squad that was combat squaded to eat the initial assaults in front of my larger units. My opponent had his Rippers tunneling and a squad of warriors flanking in reserves.

Turn 1

World Eater turn was uneventful, just moving some troops with nothing in range. Tyranids had all 3 units at the halfway point to start and began to move in quickly with good run rolls for his units. Shooting from the Tyrant took down a marine from my 10 man squad.

Turn 2

Rest of my army falls in from behind sets up staggered wave lines for the assault from the Tyranids. 2 Combat squads block two choke points to eat the charges and units with Apothicarians move into position to give all 7 units FNP + Furious. Shooting was tame with a body guard dieing and a wound places on the warrior squad. I hold off on charging as I would rather recieve his charge to counter shoot and charge. Tyranids turn he brings in his Carnifex squad that gets a 6 on the run roll. Hormagaunts not so kind on the fleet with a 2 and Zoanthropes with low roll as well on the run. The Rippers come in and but deviate into a unit and are delayed a turn on the mishap table. He call 3 assaults, which are the only 3 he can make. Tyrant + guards into a 5 man combat, Guants make it into the 10 man squad and the Warriors hits the 5 man squad. Combat squads did what they needed to do and died to excessive no save attacks. The guants on the other hand are diced up in CC and lose some more in the resolution phase due to fearless but still holds me in CC.

Turn 3

The mobility of the jump packs allows me line things up. Blood Lance goes off despite shadow of the warp, puts a wound on the tyrant and kills a wounded warrior and kills another. Melta guns prior to the lance kills off all the Tyrant guards and kills the rest of the warriors off. Two units pile into the Tyrant in CC and finish him off and the Hormaguants quickly melted away. Tyranid player moves his troops up, Rippers decide to come up, flanking warriors refuse to come in and Carnifex's are now in charge range. Shooting phase I braced for the worst as 5 zoanthropes opened up and passed all 5 psychic tests, but the Lirbarian said no to all 5! Carnifex's kill a few and take a couple of wounds from the fist. Looking at the table my opponent concedes the game'

This fits any chaos legion but world eaters :(.

good list though, grats on the win!

Your opponet was foolish to give up with 3 Fexen, rippers a unit of warriors and tons of zoenthropes left. Tell him to man the feth up. thats close to or over 1k points left.

And whilst you're pointing and shouting at the boogeyman in the corner, you're missing the burglar coming in through the window.

Well, Duh! Because they had a giant Mining ship. If you had a giant mining ship you would drill holes in everything too, before you'd destory it with a black hole

Interesting - i like the idea of the all-foot lunatic Pre-Heresy WE army, but I agree that Librarians are possibly the least fluffy choice you could make.....

Kinda depends on how long you have been playing and from what fluff. In Slaves to Darkness, World Eaters had full access to Librarians, Tech Marines, Chaplains, Decestator / Tactical Squads and medics. Khorne at the time didn't care how you killed your opponent only that you do. The World Eaters were a fully functional chapter that served Choas. In Fantasy Battle using Slaves to Darkness, worshippers of Korne could be blessed with Hvy Bolters, Las Cannon etc to make up for his disdain for magic.

As for me, this is pre-heresy list. Even when I play it as full blown Chaos I have a hard time believing the fluff that games workshop has written. World Eaters are now simple Beserkers with no other organization? Who drives their vehicles? Who transports them? How to you keep them all together with out them going for a free for all in confined transports? How do they keep replacing their numbers? With all the wars Chaos has fought, several traitor legions would be extinct due to loss of man power as they have no way of replicating the geneseed nor the ability to simply create a marine out of thin air or turn a normal man into a marine.

A great example is read all the stories between Horus and the Emperor in their final battle. The original story was great but every time its retold its exaggerated and changes by the new story teller. The orginal story in their final battle, the Emperor was so powerful that at any time in their confrontation he could of utterly destroyed Horus as his power was that great and nothing Chaos could do about it. Yet it was his love for his children that prevented him from do that. Horus unloaded on the Emperor and the Emperor would not fight back still in disbelief and for his love until near death did he see Sanguinis body. Yet now in the BA codex the story is retold that the Emperor didn't have the power to kill Horus on his own but the battle between Sanguinis and Horus left Horus's armor with an exposed spot for which the emperor could kill him.

A lot has changed over the years too. and If your Army is pre herasy It still wouldn't include librarians as no one but the Big E used the Warp, Magnus got in big trouble for it, poor 1k sons. It's your army and you can play it how ever you want, but It feels like if somebody made an army of kind Dark eldar or peaceful orks

And whilst you're pointing and shouting at the boogeyman in the corner, you're missing the burglar coming in through the window.
