Appologies if this has been asked in the past...

I wanted something clarified, for this came up in a past game! In my Ork Codex: Grazghkull and the Warboss can each take a squad of Nobz or Mega Nobz, A Big Mek can take a Deff Dread, & Wazdakka can take a squad of Bikerz. Each of these are taken as a troop choice!
Now as they are taken as Troop Choices, can these also be classed as Scoring Units?!
Personally I say yes , but in the past i've been told that cause these are not in their usual FOC slots that they cannot be used as scoring units!

So I ask you all... can these Troop Choices be used to score?!

1) if they are troops, then they are troops and so score.

2) The exception are Deff Dreads, as they are vehicles and so DONT score by the BRB and dont have a codex rule overriding it, unlike DA.

Just a small correction to the OP:
Wazdakka can take 6 Warbiker Mobs as troops if you wanted to, not just one, and they may still be taken as fast attack as well.

Bikes, sure if they are taken as wazdakkas troop choices. Taken as their normal fast attack option its iffy! Now on that note... seeing that they are classed as Jetbikes (yet NOT vehicles), could deffkoptas be used to score?!
My instincts say no due to them being a fast attack option, but hey ya never know!?

Bikes only count as scoring if Wazdakka is one HQ as Skarshak mentioned. Also if they are biker nobz they would count as scoring if there is a warboss. Those are the only two ways bikes can be scoring units. For Orks that is.

Deff Kopters are not troop units and can never be taken as such. So, they can not hold objectives. They CAN, however, contest them.

Wazdakka *is* a warboss. He has his own Waaagh, and it says so on page 96. He's "Da Bike Boss."

As a Warboss, he allows you to take the unit of Nobs as troops.

Wazdakka does not even have the Waaagh! special rule in my codex and the Ork FAQ says it should be deleted if it is there. Only a plain Warboss or Ghazghkull Thraka have "The Big Boss" rule which lets them take a Nob unit as a troop choice.

So what if he doesn't have the "Waaagh" rule?
NOTHING on bikes has it.

I may have remembered the "Big boss" rule incorrectly, but I checked my codex. It CLEARLY describes him as a Warboss. Even without the special rule, he's still a Warboss (with his own Waaagh named after him, even).

I misunderstood your point about the his personal Waaagh!
I now see that you were referring to the fluff waaagh which in my opinion has even less influence on this rule debate.
If you want to go there, nowhere in his codex entry (pg 60) is the word Warboss ever used.
He is called a warboss once in the fluff box on pg 25.
I don't see how you can say that this clearly describes him as a warboss in terms of the RULES for warbosses...

No, he's not a Warboss for rules purposes. He gets to make bikers scoring, but not Nobs as well.

He's not that either (unless you're using fluff terms, and I don't think that's the issue here )

He allows you to take Warbikers as Troops, and that's it. Not Nobz, MANZ, or Deff Dreads.

However, you CAN take a Warboss IN ADDITION to Wazzy, and then take a single squad of Nobz (stick them on bikes if you want!) or MANZ.

He is a Warboss.

Clarification:
I'm not talking about the Warboss RULES. I'm just talking about the character himself.
Keep in mind, guys, that special rules vary for special characters. Just because he doesn't have the "Big Boss" ability, it doesn't make him any LESS a Warboss. It just means he doesn't get to benefit from that rule.

Then why are you continually yelling about it in a rules discussion in the rules forum?
The question obviously doesn't pertain to his fluff, and you are muddying the issue with incorrect and misleading information.

Fluffwise, he's a Big Mek. He makes his own super-kustomized bike and he can use the Mek's Tools. His name has Mek in it. He is a battle leader but Big Meks running the show isn't unheard of.

Now, no need to be all confrontational. Although the internet adds a certain amount of anonymity that makes it easy to be pissy at people and use loaded phrases like, "why are you continually yelling about it," it doesn't mean you should lower yourself to fall into that trap. Especially when I haven't been yelling.
No need to get your panties in a twist. It's a simple, civil, conversation.

Didn't seem right to me.
I mean, yes. He built his own bike. A MEK, though?
He seems far too tough for that!

So, I took a look at the codex.
Sure enough, part of his wargear is Mek's Tools.
Well, son of a...
*Looks like I was wrong (see above).

So, to clarify, I'm stating that he is not -by rules or fluff- a Warboss. I was incorrect about that.
Thanks, MSP, for pointing it out in such a plain, friendly manner.

Now, if more people online could (a) discuss things instead of arguing and (b) admit when they're wrong, there would be a lot less need for and :eyeroll: emoticons. KWIM?
