The topic covers it, in the hit & run section of the rule book it says that they take an initiative test at the end of the assualt phase. Does that mean that you have to resolve the whole assualt phase (morale check, sweeping advance, etc.) before you try to hit and run?

The best thing about this particular signature is that by the time you realise it doesn't say anything it's far too late to stop reading it.

Yes.

You resolve that phase (your turn/their turn/whatever) then, if you are still alive you get to do a H&R move.
