First of all, thanks everyone for helping me on my BA list! ^_^

As for the nids, well I have owned and played nids before and really enjoyed them; however, I sold my collection. But, when I heard they had a new dex I was pretty excited about starting over again. So, before I go out and spend a large chunk of change what are my odds? Will this list at least fare ok?

Oh, and are my HT's up to par or should I make them into dakka rants?

Thanks! =]

Uhh, are winged MCs able to deep strike like anything else? And if so, because they're MCs and terrain isn't an issue. Do they ever deep strike mishap?

I think you have a crap ton of points invested in Trygon primes, one should be all you need because it's most useful in the aspect that its a synapse creature (but that awesome weapon is great!)

I personally looking at the codex really love the Ripper Swarms with Spinefists. If I'm reading it right, each ripper swarm model will get 4 twin linked attacks with a 12'' range, and still be able to assault with 3 wounds. I see using them behind your wall of hormgaunts as a good support / soak up fire unit.

Having two Hive Tyrants like that is quite incredible, it reminds me of a duel Daemon Prince w/ wings army. Too bad its over 250 points each for the model. That's A LOT of points you could use towards something else (like 40 hormagaunts base)

It looks like you ended up fielding the maximum amount of elt and HVY so that's why you were making Primes and buffing everything.

Why not completely drop a trygon prime and maybe convert a HT towards walker version for cheap or exchange around some stuff. then try to field x2 or 3 carnifex. It's only about 70 points more expensive than one Trygon prime.

I know you can't deep strike Carnifex' but they're such a huge fire magnet, and if there not. It's a good thing. If you separate your Hqs like that it creates a pinning action you can utilize on most armies. Everyone knows Carnifex are the real Tyrant guard anyways

Automatically Appended Next Post:
btw a lot of people manage to field at least to well over 60 MEQ in lists of 2500 points. You're list is looking a little low on troop choice, specially since Hormagaunts are usually cannon fodder. You still need scoring units!

The purpose of argument is informative discourse, not to see who finishes in front.

Be aware that many people are currently playing it so the Hive Commander bonuses do not stack between multiple Tyrants, and that they don't work while the Tyrants themselves are in reserve.

Yeah, the DS HT does seem to be a problem, which is why I am very hesitant to begin on this army without an official faq.

On another note, you mentioned concern for the level of troops in a 2500 list. Hmm…I don’t know what level of firepower is out there now days, but with all the big bad MC’s walking around I would think the OP would be too concerned with them to worry too much about my little critters. I guess it could go both ways and they could target them over the MC’s, but they would pay dearly for that. LoL

I know if the point level was higher, I would definitely take some winged rippers, Koski! I am sure those little things would annoy the snot out of opponents. Maybe I should just bump up the point level. I mean in this game 2500pts goes quick! Personally, I am looking at my BA and thinking they don’t really become flavorful till they reach the 3500pt level, but that’s just me I guess.

Boo!!! another faq moment
