I've been complaining about the Redeemer for awhile now. To put it simply, it has two flamestorms, statistically the best gun in the game, attached to a chassis that can always shoot it and pop tanks to get at the gooey insides with the flamestorm. I've lost countless times because I was unable to open it up with my less than stellar Chaos anti-tank choices. Once it gets to your lines it barfs out 5 TH/SS (broken as well) and a chaplain to kill literally anything in the entire codex in one shot and then goes and 2+ kills everything else in the codex except for terminators and obliterators. The outcome of my games against that combo are determined solely by whether or not I get lucky in 2 turns of obliterator fire or it immobilizes itself on terrain. /whine off

Which brings me to my point:

What kind of cool LR variants do you think chaos could see in the future? Lets think about what we have that is unique now:

Havoc Launchers
Reaper Autocannons
Sonic Weapons

that's all i can think of.

So lets make some stuff up:

2 reaper cannons on each sponson and a havoc launcher on the HB spot
TL blastmaster on HB spot and 3 sonic blasters on sponsons?

What about PotMS? I don't want a straight analog so how about "free" possesion without the BS loss? or if everything is TL with the loss.
Same for predators: how about a new variant! BA got Baal, lets get something new!

I'm curious about what other people think!

A raider per god. I'd like to see 4 god specific variants, in addition to the base one for undivided lists.

Plague Raider - 300 pts

Weapons: TL heavy bolter, 2x twin linked pus cannons
pus cannon: str7 ap4 template, always wounds on a 2+

Special Rule: Feel No Pain - The Plague Raider is more a collection of living bacteria than a working machine at this point, with many redundant parasites taking over functions once done by mechanical parts. No weapon may ever gain +1 to the damage roll against this vehicle, and the owner of the vehicle gets a 4+ save against all damage results.

Blood Raider - 275 points

Weapons: twin linked heavy bolter, 4x twin linked autocannons, frag assault launcher

Special Rule - Doomsday Reactor : Khorne cares not from whence the blood flows, only that it does. To ensure he gets his tribute, the khornate marines have installed the doomsday reactor on all their land raiders. This give the land raider the ability to ignore all shaken and stunned results, move as a fast vehicle, and treat "destroyed" results as an "explodes" result, except the blast radius is 2d6, and all hits are resolved at +2str.

Land Raider Dominator - 210 pts

AV - 14/13/12 , open topped

Weapons: TL heavy bolter, 2x sonic lances
sonic lance: single shot: str 8 ap1 lance 36" heavy 1
.............disbursed-shot: str 4 ap3 24" heavy 3 blast (small)

Special Rule: Domination - All friendly units within 12" get +1 initiative (stacks with other bonuses) as they rock out to the sound pounding out of this machine. All enemy units within 12" at the start of their turn must pass a toughness test, or suffer d6 wounds (armor saves apply) as their organs are pulped by the overwhelming bass.

Special Rule: Laser Lights - The noise marines piloting this vehicle show their devotion to the god of excess by putting on a badass death metal concert from the top of the land raider (hence the lower armor), complete with laser lights. Anyone assaulting the vehicle always requires a minimum of 5+ to hit the vehicle, as the lasers blind attackers.

Rubric Raider - 250 pts

AV - 12+d3/12+d3/12+d3 (roll for at the start of each player-turn)

Transport: 20 (up to 2 squads)

Weapons: twin linked heavy bolter, 2x warp-foci
warp focus: str 2X,6-X, range 12X, heavy X
X is the number of psykers (yours or the enemies) within 12" of the Rubric Raider.
for every roll of 1 to hit, one of your psykers (chosen by you) takes a perils of the warp attack.

Special Rule: Immaterial - Its dimensions warped by the god of change, it is deceptively large inside, while the outer hull shifts in strength, buckling under the warp energies it contains. Its very presence on the battlefield strengthens the latent warp energies in the battlefield, and strengthens those who can channel it. All psykers on the table pass psychic tests on any roll, but take perils on any doubles results. Psychic hoods, runic staffs, or any wargear which may stop powers from being cast function while the Rubric Raider is on the table. Inquisitorial null rods, Grey Knight special rules, and Sisters of battle special rules all function normally.

After the orbital strikes, Thunderhawk bombardments, Whirlwinds, Vindicators, fusion and starfire and finally Battle Brothers with flamers had finished cleansing the world of all the enemies of Man, we built a monastery in the center of the largest, most radioactive impact crater. We named the planet "Tranquility", for it was very quiet now.

Core, and its consumption of life, has become a well-oiled machine. Core has changed. ID tagged soldiers carry ID tagged weapons, use ID tagged gear. Nanomachines inside their bodies enhance and regulate their abilities. Genetic control. Information control. Emotion control. Battlefield control. Everything is monitored, and kept under control. Core has changed. The age of deterrence has become the age of control. All in the name of averting catastrophe from weapons of mass destruction. And he who controls the battlefield, controls history. Core has changed. When the battlefield is under total control, war... becomes routine.

I like the idea of the Noise Marines Land Raider.

There needs to be a specifically made Grey Knights/Witch Hunters land raider.

Maybe they're going to stick it in the proposed Inquisition Codex

Pysk out grenade launcher?
Psycannon instead of a heavy bolter?
pumped up Flame Storm to make it as an incinerator?

Indeed it is. I might even build one. It would be totally awesome.
