Having attatched Yarrick and a Ministorum Priest to my command squad in a recent 40k game it became apparent that both characters allowed re-rolls in close combat! I put it to my obliging adversary that it was unlikely that you could re-roll for Yarricks rule and subsequently re-roll any failures at this stage with the priest, essentially giving you two chance to re-roll in cc. Fortunately for me he said give it a go and the rest is history but can somebody confirm that the re-rolling to hit or wound can't be multiplied in this fashion?

If you had three or four guys with the ability to offer re-rolls you'd likely hit or wound with every attack!

I'm pretty certain you you can't ever re-roll a re-roll.

If more of us valued food and cheer and 40K over hoarded gold, it would be a merrier world.

The rule you are looking for is like...at the beginning of the rule book.

Page 1-5?

Basically, no re-rolling re-rolls. Big Basic Rule.

This is a little story about four people named Everybody, Somebody, Anybody, and Nobody.
There was an important job to be done and Everybody was sure that Somebody would do it.
Anybody could have done it, but Nobody did it.
Somebody got angry about that because it was Everybody's job.
Everybody thought that Anybody could do it, but Nobody realized that Everybody wouldn't do it.
It ended up that Everybody blamed Somebody when Nobody did what Anybody could have done.

You can never re-roll a re-roll. That extra ability is redundant in this circumstance.

Main Rulebook pg. 2 in the callout box.

No single D6 can be re-rolled more than once, regardless of the source (or sources) of the re-roll. It's not that the rules can't stack, it's that the rules disallow you from the act of picking up the dice for re-rolls more than once.

The only time a "re-rolled" dice is "re-rolled" is a tied Roll Off, but since the dice are never "Re-Rolled", but rather "rolled again", it is not an issue!

Okay, cheers guys! I figured as much but wanted to check! I skipped the first couple of pages of the rule book in order to get straight into the shooting rules, ha!

Thanks again!
