anyone got any ideas or suggestions for models or which rules to use.
i coudl do with the help. the Harad models are a bit small for fantasy and the only idea so far is high elf archers with Glade guard/hooded heads.
rules have been difficult as well. i am not sure i like the empire lists and the only one i think could work nicely would be Dark elves for assassins and shooty.
still only a vague idea as i want to get into fantasy and have not found an army to do.

The Imperium of Man is able to traverse the Warp with difficulty when their Emperor concentrates from his golden life support machine and lights the way. Unfortunately, because the Emperor has the attention span of the average 5-year-old Pokemon fanboy, this means that many an unfortunate Imperial ship has had the WTF WHERE'D THE LIGHTS GO experience, which in the Warp is invariably fatal. |

There are a variety of historical ranges for Arab models: Perry Brothers, Artizan Designs, Gripping Beast, Musketeer Miniatures, Old Glory, Castaway Arts
Hard part is fitting to WFB. Empire is tempting with swordsmen, spearmen, free company and archers (or even hand gunners) all being an easy fit. Empire knights are sort of like Arab heavy cav, but there are no good fits for light horse archers.
Dark Elf is an interesting choice. Should be easy to assign the various infantry units to a DE type. The list has both heavy and excellent light cav. You should be able to find some sort of Arab monster to use as a Hydra. Only trouble would be proxing all the bow armed arabs under crossbow rules.
Might be easier to just come play Warhammer Ancients.

Actually, I like the idea of DE as an Araby list.
Corsairs need no conversion.
Spears are fine.
Executioners/Black Guard fit as a type of Jannissary unit.
Dark riders as desert cav.
Cold Ones could either go as a heavy cav or could go as camels and play up the fear aspect of the unusual mount.
Repeater Xbows and short compound bows would, in my mind, play the same...multiple shots with increased armor penetration.
Of course that is more a blend of North African Moors/Egyptian Calpih/Turks than WHF "Araby" but it certainly gives the feel.

I'm personally a fan of making it from the Empire list, primarily because you keep humans as humans, though I can see the allure of the Dark Elf list...

It was Dark Rider and Shades heavy.

Dark Elf Rules, using "araby" models.
It really is the best fit.

Andy Smalls from the Warmonger club in New York City(Wickernipple, on their forums) has a great-looking araby DE army that I got to play against earlier this year. Pretty much every model in the army is converted with green stuff turbans and scarves. The banners use traditional geometric designs. The Hydra is repped by a model elephant. The only conversion I didn't love is the chariot, which is two smaller elephants on a chariot base, with crossbow & spear-armed riders.

@mannahnin - that'd be the same one I played against. Lovely army all around, and I loved his use of Warmaster Great Eagles for Harpies.
I liked his Chariot conversion, though I can understand the dislike for it.

I have seen Andy's army as well, I have not played against him, i'm sure at some point I will. I think overall the army is very sharp, very nicely done. The only thing I was a little surprised by was the 2 little elephants for the cold one's then the big one for the hydra. I'm sure you can say "little elephants are prone to boughts of stupidity," but was just minorly odd for my liking.
However, I love the army. The list is really good and syncs very nicely together. The combo of fully converted army, nice guy, good list, and excellent general and he's a great gamer with a really sharp army. I'm sure there are pictures somewhere of it.

I spent a few minutes digging on the Warmonger forum, Warhammer.org, and the Colonial GT website. So far, nada. There's got to be something, though. He's also brought it to the Conflict GT, which is where I played him.
