So 3 weeks to the day my Maxmini order turns up. Now I have never ordered resin parts before so I don't know what I should have been expecting, a little bit of work yeah sure but much of what I got I feel is just broken.
Before some people start preaching "resin requires advance modelling skills" etc etc bla bla bla, there is nothing here that I can't fix. I was just wondering if what I got is viewed as acceptable.
I have grouped the damaged items together with the relevant bits, the odd bits at the bottom, I have no idea what they have broken off. The most annoying thing is that the torso in the top right has had its left shoulder completely shattered and it will probably require shaving down and rebuilding with greenstuff/plasticard.
So what do you think, is this normal?

Was it poorly packaged or the package damaged?

Everything (10 arms, 5 torso's, 3 legs) were crammed into a blister pack (are they still called that?) then into a padded envelope, then stuffed through my letter box.
The blister was a little squashed but not very. It was all a tight fit though.

Sounds like a shoddy packing job. Maybe you should consider contacting them and sending them the pic.

So you would consider this damage excessive? Anyone else have any opinions before I decided what to do?
Other then the damage the pieces are fairly decent, only a small amount of flash everything is straight and none of these bubbles I have heard about people getting in resin. Its just a shame about the damage.

resin requires cleaning of flash, and bending warped pieces back into shape with hot water. It does NOT require you to re-glue things that broken in transit... thats a defect in either their packing or molding process that you shouldnt have to deal with.

After the orbital strikes, Thunderhawk bombardments, Whirlwinds, Vindicators, fusion and starfire and finally Battle Brothers with flamers had finished cleansing the world of all the enemies of Man, we built a monastery in the center of the largest, most radioactive impact crater. We named the planet "Tranquility", for it was very quiet now.

I bought a load of stuff from Tobsen in Germany and it was all OK. Your stuff should have been better packed. A cardboard box with foam chips is better than a padded envelope for this kind of inclusion. At least the postman won't stamp on it to fit it through the letterbox.
You can't expect the same level of service from a guy in a garage in Poland as you get from a multi-million dollar international corporation.
That said, there's no harm in asking Max Mini for replacements. Bad publicity can't be good for them.

Thanks guys, have sent them a message to see if they have anything to say about it.
It's a shame because they are very nice pieces. I can't stress that enough
Last time I messaged them it took a few days to get a response so assuming this thread doesn't get locked due to other people arguing/trolling I will post their response when I get it.

I have ordered from Maxmini before and have always been pleased with their service, as far as i am aware when problems do crop up they are very quick to put them right.
Looking at the pictures, the damage is not what I would call acceptable. Email them and ask for replacements, it is probably worth including the pictures of all the broken parts so they can see the problem for themselves. A little warped resin or some air bubbles is one thing but a packet of jumbled up broken bits is not.

Agreed on all counts!
Maxmini are a stand up bunch of guys, and I can't imagine that they won't help you out.
And, padded envelops, while keeping costs down, are not very good for shipping somewhat fragile items, especially if said shipping is going overseas...

They were genuinely apologetic. Although the service hasn't been hasty they have dealt with me professional and to my satisfaction. If you haven't already done so I would say go ahead and place an order. I would have no problems ordering from them again.

Good to hear that they have been professional and you are satisfied with how they have treated you. Accidents always happen. Stuff gets broken or goes missing but if the company is reasonable about it always makes me feel better about ordering from them.
But to your original question it should never be a question of acceptable or not acceptable. When you purchase something it should not come broken.

"Straight Fething Silver" Tanith first and only
I have a reputation, Modile, a reputation as a fair, honest man who treats his soldiers well and supports them in the face of darkness. Potentially, that reputation makes me soft. It seems I understand failure and forgive it. Some, like Kowle, believe me to be a weak commissar, not prepared to take the action my rank demands. Not prepared to enforce field discipline where I see it failing. I am an Imperial commissar. I will enflame the weak, support the wavering, guide the lost. I will be all things to all men who need me. But I will also punish without hesitation the weak, the incompetent, and the treasonous.
I am a Commissar. I am empowered to deliver justice wherever I see it lacking. I am empowered to punish cowardice. I am granted the gift of total authority to judge, in the name of the Emperor, on the field of combat.

I'm guessing he has 'dropped it' and 'moved on' since it was settled to his satisfaction!
