ive seen alot of eldar lists posted on this forum and no one seems to use the eldar support weapons. The D cannon wounds on a 2+ and is ap2 with instant death on a to wound roll of a 6. Its a blast template so you could potentialy take down 3-5 space marines a shot without allowing armor saves. Glances on 3-4 penatrates on 5-6 as well so its rly not bad against vehicals imo. The only down side to the unit to me is that its range is only 24 inches, but if you set it up right 24 inches seems like it would be fine to use it on the defencive since in most games you start out about 24 inches away from eachother. I havent used this yet but I plan on trying it out.
I think it would be great against armies who dont use alot of armored personel carriers. Like blood angles, having jump infantry as a troop choice, a good shot with the cannon could cripple the squad.
does anyone use/plan to use the support weapons?
I just recently getting into eldar so im trying to figure out what to run for heavy supprort. I have a falcon, it works well but im trying to use less tanks than i did in my plague marines army (theres 11 in my plague marines army i think).

You won't get that many once you factor in cover saves and semi-intelligent deployment. The support weapons are pricy for what they do and are very fragile.

Support Weapons are easily the worst Heavy Support choice available to Eldar. They have basically nothing going for them, they are very easy to take out due to the artillery rules, are static, are inaccurate with BS 3 and generally don't do enough damage even if they do hit. D-Cannons are probably the best of the bunch and would be usable if they weren't only 24" range, they are too easy to ignore otherwise. If you are wanting a defensive unit to squash MEQ Dark Reapers are better because you can take Tempest Launcher + Crack Shot and wipe out a squad per turn (still one of the nastiest in the game at this, they are just too hard to use due to being static).
As far as other Heavy choices, pretty much everything apart from the support weapons (maybe Reapers, tricky to use due to being static) are pretty good, which ones you take depends on the type/style of list you are running. Fire Prisms are cheap and when taken in pairs are pretty good at everything you might need them for, Falcons got a nerf with 5th edition but are still pretty good as a backfield gunboat and objective capturer. War Walkers are the ultimate glass hammer, they can put out a huge amount of damage but can't take any at all in return. Wraithlords aren't as good as they used to be, most people can deal with the T8 now, but they are still usable.

Support weapon batteries are not the best HS choice for an Eldar army.
One issue is that its difficult to hide a battery since area terrain does not block (true) line of sight.
Another issue is that outflankers are rather popular these days and can eventually threaten the batteries early in the game.

Simply because you can hide them and still shoot and they're very cheap, Shadow Weavers are an option, but a very poor one.
TBH unless support weapons get a major power up in the next eldar 'dex they're just not worth it. Just about everything they can do other units in the eldar army can do better. They are also very easy to kill and compete for valuable HS choices with units that are all much better than they are.
