Obviously I'm not talking about talk back..
When I listen to the radio I want to hear music. Apparently I am alone as the radio people always yak yak and hopelessly try to be funny (99% failure rate) THEN play a song. And at any peak time there is no station playing music its always a breakfast show or some gak. Why is this, are people so lonely they need someone to talk to them in the car. Jeez. .

Satellite radio is worth every dime of the monthly fee.

--The whole concept of government granted and government regulated 'permits' and the accompanying government mandate for government approved firearms 'training' prior to being blessed by government with the privilege to carry arms in a government approved and regulated manner, flies directly in the face of the fundamental right to keep and bear arms.

They are terrible here in York. Its like they try to be stand up comedians but they arent funny. Either hire an actual comedian or shut your pissing mouth and play a record.

Yeah, I really hate FM radio people. They're not funny people.
They have them because radio stations need brand identification, they need listeners who'll listen in and stay throughout the ads because they're Kyle and Jackie O people. You aren't going to get that if you just play a mix of songs.
It's why the stations do so advertising and sponsorship, they really want people to be 92.9 people or whatever station.

“We may observe that the government in a civilized country is much more expensive than in a barbarous one; and when we say that one government is more expensive than another, it is the same as if we said that that one country is farther advanced in improvement than another. To say that the government is expensive and the people not oppressed is to say that the people are rich.”

The problem with most DJs is that they love the sound of their own voices too much to just shut up and play music, and when they do play something, it's either 1) straight from the MTV assembly line, 2) selected to establish their cooler-than-thou status. I mostly listen to the African language stations here in South Africa because I don't have a clue what they're saying but at least they groove.

I listen to talk radio on the way in to work to help me wake up. I'm not in the mood for metal or anything loud/harsh, but quieter music would be too relaxing. Sometimes I listen to the sports talk station on the way home because I'm interested in sports.
As sebster said, every radio station can play much the same songs. It's the people/personalities who create listener involvement/loyalty. The host on my way in this morning said that when they still played 6 songs per hour he was 12th in the ratings. Now that they play pretty much no music, his show is #1 within his market.

This is a little story about four people named Everybody, Somebody, Anybody, and Nobody.
There was an important job to be done and Everybody was sure that Somebody would do it.
Anybody could have done it, but Nobody did it.
Somebody got angry about that because it was Everybody's job.
Everybody thought that Anybody could do it, but Nobody realized that Everybody wouldn't do it.
It ended up that Everybody blamed Somebody when Nobody did what Anybody could have done.

The less music stations play the less royalties they pay out. That annoying jackhole is saving them money with his useless anecdotes. I regularly call my favorite station and tell the DJ to STFU and play music.

I'll second the motion to move to Sirius-XM! I got it a few years ago and have never looked back. Commercial free music channels of every variety and uncensored Ron and Fez make me very happy.
The problem is that now whenever I'm forced to listen to terrestrial radio I am irritated beyond description. Unless it's Car Talk or Wait Wait Don't Tell Me. Those shows are magnificent.

I needed to put someone in there and they're the only DJs I could think of, and that's only because of the whole scandal thing.
I just don't care who any Djs are.
