Hi. i finaly desided to go for IG as my second army, cant go wrong with tanks...

I dont feel comfortable just blurting out that i want a ready made list to help me get
starting. But im all out of idees. There are soo many options with IG my head is spinning.

Im getting the B-Box and a demolisher kit or a hellhound kit today.
I dont wanna waste my figs by building something that is basicly awful just becuz im ignorant
to IG and 40K in general.

Could anyone help out, pretty please

Well, if you want a list you're better off searching or just scrolling through the last few pages. But, decide first of all whether you want your troops choices to be:
all platoons on foot,
platoons on foot plus some specialist mechanised veterans, mechanised/partly mechanised platoons,
mechanised veterans w/1 backup platoon, or
all mechanised veterans.

Every well thought-out IG army I've seen fits into those categories, some of the best have mostly mechanised vet squads, and then 1 platoon, with the PCS in a chimera, 2-3 infantry squads (often with a commissar) and some HWS or SWS in some cases (where present, SWS are usually intended to ride in a valkyrie).

So, aside from that, I'll give you some generalities. Of the LR variants, only LRBTs, demolishers and executioners are generally respected. Some people favour specific punisher/vanquisher/exterminator set-ups using Pask.

Sentinels are usually considered less useful than valk or hellhound variants in mechanised lists.

CCS can be outfitted with lots of weapons (common for mechanised forces) or with a standard and a vox, in a leadership role (for infantry forces). This coincides with the rule that orders are terrific for infantry guard, so voxes are a good buy there, but not worth the trouble for mech guard.

For your demolisher and hellhound, both those kits include all weapon options - magnetise, blue-tac or just jam weapons into place, instead of gluing things down. Don't buy a LRBT kit, they're coming out with a new one, which should also be modular, in June.

Hope that helps, good luck with the new army.

Being able to pack 4 specials, plus they're BS4 and the commanders' orders, means they are very powerful for a 5 man squad.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
If you're getting the battlebox, you'll have lots of heavy weapons. If you make your crew helpers out of regular 'standing' models, as well as the missile launcher and mortar men, you can eventually make use of all 15 heavy weapons you're getting. Don't waste the kneeling guys, and you may have to make more bipods/tripods.

I know this question does not belong in this forum, but if your CCS squad wants to use commanders orders as you just mentioned, does it have to roll below its ld value like other squads? I have not seen a exception for this.

Orders only works when a LD test is passed, so i would think so.

Aye, I say so. They're a cheap unit which comes with several special weapons. When I played guard in the past I wished I could issue orders to a squad which was else where - well now with dual CCS I can and taking two gives me unit redundancy and dual threat in the form of plasma guns.
