Just wanted to throw this idea out there before sending it over to the 40k tactics forum, or for that matter to the relevant mod of that forum (to wit: I have no idea who that would be).

Pitching this idea: Given there are a core of amazing players out there who frequently beat down the competition, how about a thread dedicated to dissecting the best players in Warhammer 40k in terms of their play style and their lists, and subsequently pooling the collective talent of the forumites to develop in posts ways to critique and possibly find ways to exploit the lists and play styles of such players.

The gravest problem I have with this idea is that it could lead to flaming by less courteous members, as threads targeting specific people and their playing styles could lead to flame wars divergent from the topic on hand, which is to actually try and find a way to beat said people.

Thoughts?

Any dedicated area to that sort of topic would be a massive flame fest and create little real discussion.

Even if the flamming by some weird techno magic got under control the problem is that you cannot prove one tactic is better then another even if you play test it, the dice gods always keep things random. So you would at best have every topic degenerate into the limited number of schools of thought that exist when it comes to 40K "tactics".
