So for 70 points you can get a deff kopta with twin-linked rokkits and a buzzsaw. Using a scout move the kopta, under ideal circumstances, will auto-hit rear armor 10 with 3 S7 attacks on the top of turn 1. I've got 140 points do I take two of these or for, 15 more points, do I run a deff kotpa squad that is 3 strong and diversified (1 buzssaw, 2 rokkits, 1 big shoota) and thus requires 4 wounds before 1 is killed?

PROSECUTOR: By now, there have been 34 casualties.

I'd say the diversified group, you can have some fun with wound allocation

I think two squads would be best in most situations. Unfortunately there will be some really bad matchups.

Inside a pretty, pretty pain cave... won't you come inside?

I tended to have better success with suicide koptas. People tend to react with instant-kill weaponry towards them, so those krak missiles, melta guns, etc. all spoil your wound allocation, and then your squad is taking Leadership tests at 7. Two gives your opponent "free" killpoints, but they should hopefully do their job before dying.

Unless you need to free up a FA slot I'd definitely go for the 2 suicide koptas. With a good chance for a first turn assault, they're more likely to make their points back.

The large squad has the advantage of messing with wound allocation but allot of the things fired at them will cause instant death. Like nob bikers they also have a problem with ordinance.

Who cares if they get fragged in the bottom of turn one if you've already taken out two enemy tanks?

I would personally go for the 3 warbuggys armed with rokkits for 105 points but that is just me...

Buzz-Kopta are strong if you go first... otherwise you feel silly when they shoot at it on their first turn and snag a kp... the plus side is that it has a 3+ cover save...

Just make sure that they pop something worth 70-140 points...

I have to admit, I miss the old Infantry battles of 4E compared to this 5E wonderland of APCs/IFVs everywhere. It's like we jumped from WWI to WWII.

Played against a very tough BA list the other night and the koptas did in fact draw alot of fire. I like warbuggies as a unit but I cannot bring myself to shell out the lettuce for the horrible models. I suppose I could use my trukks as counts-as warbuggies.
