I don't have any razorbacks General. Only one Rhino.

I'm just doing a list for a game I have next week. Got a 2000 point army and was just looking at doing a smaller 1000.

Still, thanks for the advice!

Chaplain is ok; jsut remember you get stuck in c.c you lose the chaplains ability what you're paying for.

Lascannon and heavy flamer do not suit on the dreadnought. You will be static blasting away so the heavy flamer probably won't get used. Best take a missile launcher. I would set both up the same btw for support and redundancy.

Drop flamers becasue your on foot and won't get into range to use that flamer. Take plasma and combi plasma as these have the longest range seems you are on foot.

Double the Assault squad mate.

No Razorbacks! Word of advice you should always pay the extra couple bucks for the Razorback instead of just a Rhino. You get all the pieces need to make a Rhino when you buy the Razorback. This allows you to have more options. The same thing goes for the Predators I have mine all magnetized so they can be Rhinos, Destructors, Annihilators, or something in between (Hybrids)

Only thing I think I might do is change the Lascannon Dread and Assault Cannon dread for a fully kitted out Sternguard Squad.

Possible Sternguard outfit - 280 points

Sergeant: Plasma Pistol & Bolter
7 SM w/ Bolters & Special Ammo
x 2 Missile Launchers

275

Gives some more bodies to the army (more saves) and a longer reach to protect the Assault Squad before they get into CC

And yes I know if the chaplain gets stuck into CC for more than one turn he loses the Liturgies of Battle Special Rule.

But 30 attacks with all failed hits re-rolled shouldn't leave much (hopefully) to keep fighting.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
OOk. jiggled around the list a bit.

Sternguard have Kraken and Vengeance rounds, which goes a little to making up for the loss of the Dreadnoughts. Kraken rounds at 30" might even take down a transport. Although I think i'll be concentrating more on the troops.

New list:

HQ:
Chaplain w/ Jump pack
115

attached to

ASSAULT:
Assault Squad (10 man)
Sergeant: Lightning Claws
Flamer
250

ELITES:

Sergeant: Combi-Plasma

Don't give the sternguard missile launchers because you're wasting the special ammo.

Lol funny you say that, don't bank on it.

Oh I know tanks have a HUGE psych impact on your opponent. Nothing like something rolling towards you that just Wont.......Go.......Down.

But my view is this. If he hasn't got any troops left then all my guns can turn on his tanks......

Destroy the tanks first mate so he has no mobility. You should really target prioritise when playing a game though. Destroy the transports the troops are now on foot not going any where fast and can be gunned down, for example.

I suppose immobilise transports with Plasma Cannons and Sternguard, then open up with Sternguard on units beyond 24"....
Then let EVERYTHING fall on them.

Then send in the chaplain...

"Blessed is he who in the name of charity and goodwill shepherds the weak against the tyrannies and inequities of evil men. And i will strike down with great vengeance and furious anger, those who would oppose and destroy my brothers! And you will know my name is the lord when I lay my finger upon thee....!"
