Hey dakka dakka i read most of the soul drinkers omnibus and i was wondering are they a playable army in the tabletop game?
Also does anyone field them?
What do they count as empire or chaos? or neither? ? ?
And if i had soul drinkers and other assorted chaos units could i field them together?
The same if i have soul drinkers and imperial space marines
Also how much rear do they kick? lol
Measurements in cubic but whoopings please lol dont take that seriously

DIY Army.

Make up some rules, convert some figs and lets see what we can see.

As for a playable army, why not?

Make it happen!

At Games Workshop, we believe that how you behave does matter. We believe this so strongly that we have written it down in the Games Workshop Book. There is a section in the book where we talk about the values we expect all staff to demonstrate in their working lives. These values are Lawyers, Guns and Money.

I hate to see this but you really need to get the rulebooks as it does not seem like you understand how the game works.

Having said that I will answer your questions.

1. The Soul Drinkers do not have their own set of rules.

2. You can paint up miniatures that look like the Soul Drinkers and you could use whatever rules you wanted for them. So if you wanted to you could use either Chaos or one of the several Space Marine army lists.

3. You need to understand that Space Marines and Imperial Guard have separate army books so they do not all fall under the heading of Imperial.

4. Since rules wise there are no such thing as Soul Drinkers you can use them with Chaos Space Marines or other Space Marines as long as YOU USE THE SAME CODEX FOR THE ENTIRE ARMY.

5. Four is very important in that normal play you only use a single codex for your army.

6. The Soul Drinker books are pretty sweet.

7. There is no Sarpedon model. You should look at the Games Workshop webstore to see what models the do sell.

Before you buy them you should find a gaming group and see if you can read through someones rules and then talk to them about it. Do you know of a hobby shop or a club close to you?

I play a soul drinkers army, I use the space wolves codex. Njal storm caller makes a great sarpedon, and with their 4 HQ rule you can field a model for each of the major characters.
