Jesus supposedly died once for our sins.

The Emperor, however, lives, but his life is a constant experience of neverending agony beyond our pale comprehension... he doesn't let go and die simply because he loves humanity and knows he is all that binds it together.

In this way, is the Emperor more of an impressive figure to look up to/idolise than Jesus?

Of course, I understand that both are fictional characters, this is just for the sake of comparing fluff from different fantasy worlds

Ask yourself one question and you will comepletly understand. Which one had a flamming sword and wore gold armour?

Someone call the Pope...

“Sanguinius. It should have been him. He has the vision and strength to carry us to victory, and the wisdom to rule once victory is won. For all his aloof coolness, he alone has the Emperor's soul in his blood. Each of us carries part of our father within us, whether it is his hunger for battle, his psychic talent or his determination to succeed. Sanguinius holds it all. It should have been his...” -- The Warmaster Horus

I find this topic offensive, and most people have the common sense not to debate this publicly.

Admittedly, a bit tactless and out of place. Especially since you obviously intend it to be so with the fictional character jab.

As a side note, very few historians would try to argue that Jesus of Nazereth DIDN'T exist, the question is of divinity, not existence.

From a theological point of view, the passion wasn't just the death of Jesus, but actually experiencing the entirety of human experience, every pain and torment at Gethsemane.

Still, flaming sword...

But then again, Jesus had laser eyes. Tough call.

Worst. Thread. Ever.

Jesus isn't confirmed as being real, he is boring.

Emperor, well, he was basically superman + lex luthor + sly marbo.

We know who just won.

Did you guys know Canada has a friggin desert?

why is it taking so long to lock this thread?

Jesus (real or not) had an impact which lasted for over 2000 years on pretty much more than 90% of the world. The emperor is pure fiction and affected less than 1% of the world.

Jesus= son of god ( not that im saying he is real or not)

Emperor= Some guy in the future who saved mankind from itself and is barely alive.

well, i think we know who wins ( and no i will not say who just for the sake of not making anyone angry )

You're not playing the game like I play it...why aren't you playing the game like I play it?! O_O

Yea being Catholic im pretty offended when you say Jesus was fictional. I come to this site to discuss Warhammer not whether a leader of a Religion is better than a fictional character.

OP must have been really intoxicated, or really out of it to think this was a good post. I'm no bible thumper but this is just bathing in gravy and jumping into the bear pit.

"Show me a man or a woman alone and I'll show you a saint. Give me two and they'll fall in love. Give me three and they'll invent the charming thing we call 'society'. Give me four and they'll build a pyramid. Give me five and they'll make one an outcast. Give me six and they'll reinvent prejudice. Give me seven and in seven years they'll reinvent warfare. Man may have been made in the image of God, but human society was made in the image of His opposite number, and is always trying to get back home." -Glen Bateman, The Stand (C&U), 3rd paragraph of Chapter 42, by Stephen King

Well the imperium draws heavily from Christianity and the catholic church. So one could make the argument that the Emperor is jesus. Especially when his re-birth comes in 7th edition

-Any terrain containing Sly Marbo is dangerous terrain.
-Sly Marbo once played an objective mission just to see what it was like to not meet every victory condition on his own.
-Sly Marbo bought a third edition rulebook just to play meat grinder as the attacker.
-Marbo doesn't need an Eldar farseer as an ally; his enemies are already doomed
-Sly Marbo was originally armed with a power weapon, but he dropped it while assaulting a space marine command squad just so his enemies could feel pain
-Sly Marbo still attacks the front armor value in assault, for pity's sake.
