4th edition mech eldar vs. my then-scrubby CSM. Sloggers, Possessed, LR, Tri-Las Pred-you get the idea.

Mission: Table quarters and VPs.

Terrain: He had a 3 story building in his deployment zone. With a killing field in front of it. I had no cover.

He just went to work on me. I couldn't do *anything*. It sucked.

Oh I've got two different games from the same tournament vying for this one:

1) Doubles Tournament (Dual 1k, Separate FOCs) running dual mech saturation marines. We face off against a combined Ork/Nid army using the battlemissions scenario grants all infantry sustained attack with KPs as primary. Yeah. Not being able to make their anti-tank STAY DEAD proved to be somewhat problematic since vehicles *didn't* come back every time they died. To give just one example, we killed the same bloody unit of Gargoyles 3 separate times.

2) Same tournament, facing off against another Ork/Nid army except this time the Orks include Battle Wagons full of meganobs and Ghazkhull. We draw the scenario where Orks get a continuous WAAGH!....Did I mention they had Ghazgkull? Hello auto 6" for WAAGH every turn and a permanent 2++ for Gazzy....that was fun...*shudder*

There seemed to be a span in 4th edition that every tournament I played my Ulthwe Eldar (READ: big Seer Council), I'd end up playing the lone Demonhunter player who loaded up on Psicannons. Didn't matter what mission, it just got ugly.

No earth shattering, thought provoking quote. I'm just someone who was introduced to 40K in the late 80's and it's become a lifelong hobby.

A "Hostage" mission with an objective in the middle of the Defender's deployment zone (pitched battle) that the attacker had to go and rescue. Roll off to decide attacker/defender.

Me=Mech Guard

Him=Space Wolves

He wins the roll-off and cleverly makes ME the Attacker. So I must push my Infantry squads into the waiting arms of his Wolves. Ugh!

Turns out his dice totally left him and I couldn't be stopped!

I rolled about 8 "hits" on my scatter with all my Ordnance (and when I finally scattered I rolled snake-eyes!!!) and rolled right over his army.

The Vindicare plugged Arjac in the head with a Turbo penetrator (The WG subsequently failed Morale).

The last squad he had was surrounding the Hostage so my Veterans (who Outflanked in their Chimera) so I would have to Assault them to wrestle the Hostage away from them. I managed to kill off most of the squad with shooting but he still had one guy in b2b with the Hostage. The Vindicare sighted in and killed that guy! The Veterans then ran to get into b2b, winning me the game at the last second!

I ended up buying the guy (a good friend of mine) lunch and a beer during the break after the game. He bought new dice as well and won the other two games that day!

My Necrons vs mech IG.

Special tournament mission called holding out. 6 turns, attacker must claim opponents objective in center of board. 1/3 of his army was deployed in the start, the rest of it would come off the table edge of his choosing as the relief force after turn 2 ends for me.

Sadly enough, he chose his own table edge to set up a firing line but my monoliths had deep-struck at his end of the table, disgorging 2 warrior squads facing away. His units move up, take positions. Some fire is exchanged and then it went downhill when my monoliths started getting hot streaks with their flux arcs. 5 and 6's most of the way across the board with chimera explosions and falling back squads everywhere. Lost a lith to a vendetta turn 4 but it was already over when the destroyers and immortals took vengeance.

After that he called Necrons cheese. I could only shrug and laugh.

Now this would have gone horrible if he chose to come from behind in my table edge or one of the flanks as the majority of my small army was easily able to be picked off but he just made a tactical error.

'Ard Boyz Semi-final scenario from last year versus Kan Wall Orks. The one which was 6 turns of night fight with random objectives. He got first turn, he had a big unit of deffkoptas, 2 Units of Stormboyz and 2diversified nobs in trukks I believe. Oh and Ghazzy. Oh and 9 Kans and I think 90 Boyz. I could be wrong. That seems a bit much.

Anyway - against tau. Specifically a tau army optimized for anti-meq.

A 7 chimera Mechanized platoon list vs Necrons in a Killpoint Mission (spearhead deployment) I got stuck basically behind a large cliff peice of terrain and deployed my Autocannon HWT on top. Got assaulted by wraiths who later killed my Bassilisk behind the cliff and my chimeras all got blowed up with many of the units torn appart by gauss fire.

later in the same tournament i got matched up against a mechdar force with a seer council in a dawn of war/sieze ground; council was in my board edge 1st turn and ate every Chimera that came in as soon as it did.

This is my Rulebook. There are many Like it, but this one is mine. Without me, my rulebook is useless. Without my rulebook, I am useless.

Actually a tourney about two weeks ago.
Round one and two: My 1250 CSM Khorne, SLaanesh infantry v.s. His 1250 Mobile guard. Round one Annihilation i was completely wiped off the table by turn 3. Second Round tied because i ran my troops to the objectives last turn and barely survived.

Orklando

A team tourney, a combination of bad match-ups/missions.

We were playing Orks/Guard.

Mission 2 was agains Chaos, and 6" around the objectives were treated as dangerous terrain and the opponent got +1 BATTLE POINT for every model that died that way (can you say "lash"?) We technically won that game but got way fewer battle points.

Mission 3 was Kill Points, and you got +1 BATTLE POINT for every Kill Point, and we faced a Nob Biker / Space Wolves list with like 6 kill points total in 2000 points. Thankfully we wiped them out but got way fewer battle points than the victors on the other table.

So we were the only ones to "win" every game but still placed 2nd in the 4-team tourney.

flatcon (i forget what year) 1850 points...

i was playing my tau. so naturaly was very jump suit, and skimmer heavy.
played vs a green tide mixed up with a few battel waggons

mission took place in a cave... night fight the WHOLE GAME, my suits could only walk 6 inches... no jump shoot jump, and my skimmers couldent skim.

i spent 3 turns looking into the darkness seeing only the pilot lights of the orks burnnas and not being able to shoot ANYTHING...

while it was a horrible loss, i did mannage to keep a few thigns alive and not get tabeled.

Round 3 of Conquest NW back in January: Modified killpoints: HQs worth 4 or 5 killpoints (can't remember which) troops worth 3 killpoints, every other slot worth 2 killpoints. I was playing my Dark Eldar against IG.

He gave up 22 killpoints thanks to blob squading, I gave up 43. My only loss of the tournament.
