Lately I've been listening to Johnny Cash songs. I blame the Splinter Cell: Conviction trailer.

And, to go along with the theme of theme of this thread, are a few of my favorite country songs.

Post your favorite country songs as well.

Too lazy to put videos up so I'll just name them.

"God bless Texas" by Little Texas
"Ring of Fire" Johnny Cash
"Coat of many colors" Dolly Parton
"White Lightening" George Jones
"I don't need your rocking chair" George Jones
"Thunder Rolls" Garth Brooks
"Friends in low places" Garth Brooks
"Love Story" Taylor Swift
"White Horse" Taylor Swift
"Fancy" Reba McEntire
"Does he love you" Reba McEntire/Linda Davis
"Toes" Zac Brown Band
"I'm gonna miss her" Dierks Bentley"

Ugh, I'd need multiple posts to list all my favorite country songs.

I find Swift to be more pop then country, tbh, but she still has the country flavor.

She's one of the crossovers.

She has the country sound but due to popularity she's everywhere. CMT/VH1/any top 40 radio/music station.

She made her first appearance on CMT and on country radio so consider her country.

Reba has a good voice.

Willie Nelson has some good songs.
George Strait
Charlie Daniels
Hank Jr.
Hank Sr.
Patsy Cline.

This video is one of my favorite bands doing a cover of one of JC's best tunes.

Johnny Cash was identified with the "outlaw" country movement in the '70's, along with Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings and Kris Kristofferson. I like their stuff, too.

I really love the old 40's stuff, too - Hank Williams, Sr., Bob Wills and the Texas Playboys, and all those old guys who did "hillbilly music" and "Texas Swing" made some fantastic music. I just can't get into any of the new acts - it's a little too smooth and polished, like "pop" music performed with a cowboy hat and boots.

Alles klar, eh, Kommissar?

If American Idol had existed in the 70's she would have been hands down the winner.

Wait, no Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson or Hank Williams Jr. What are you, some sort of Godless Communist Hippie Tree Hugger?
