VERY nice looking models you have there!

Luckily, I happen to have about 30 corsair capes ready to go on my warriors if I want... they just look amazing. (The far right one is the best.)

Corsair bits are one of the best things that have ever happened to the Dark Eldar, I love the extra gothic touch it adds to the army.

Thanks for the compliments.

Thank you very much. I'm not much for "real" conversions, but I do enojoy kitbashing quite a bit, and I think the DE line is very accepting of a lot of different tweaks due to their space pirate themed concept.

You do realize now you need to get your army painted and some pics posted as well, yes? The DE section is sadly sparse at the moment.

Thanks for posting the army. I like playing with and against some of the lesser played armies. These kinds of armies demonstrate how varied a game of 40K can become. Ultimately, when there are nicely painted armies being played on a nice table, it really showcases the appeal of 40K. Your army and previous reports help demonstrate this.

No earth shattering, thought provoking quote. I'm just someone who was introduced to 40K in the late 80's and it's become a lifelong hobby.

Brilliant! Great painting and some good fluff to back up the army. I'm impressed.

Thank you very much - it'll be fun incorporating in some of the new models (though it will also once again dink my DE back to 'not totally painted' status)

I like your capes in space. That is definately a concept worthy of exploration. I hope to get my pics up here soon. You got me on the conversions tho'!! Nice work! Really excited about the new models. I reckon mixing the new Wych models with old will work well if there was a good mixture of Wych weapons to begin with. I have many Raiders and only getting Ravagers now. I think they will work well together. Time will tell!!

Despite what certain superhero movies may try to have you believe - capes are always incredible.

Hope to see your stuff eventually, DE always look sharp as a painted army on the table as somehow all those jagged points help tie everything together.

Great army, do it is quite handicapped by the old de models, if you would start a de army with the new models be sure to notify me. The back story is my fave thing, the sisters idea is great! One thing do, what makes you think dark eldar are the best army in 40k? BT murder them (as well as anything else that has drop pods). Plus no terrain=no candy

Very much so. It will probably be a bit of fun to revisit my theme with the new line.

I like the old DE models
I plan to buy new ones and basically mix them in, I do not foresee redoing my whole army with new pieces.

I think the DE are the best army due to their focus on speed and firepower. Really, if you look at what they gave you it was an army with great shooting, great assault units, some of the fastest units/transports in the game and all of it was pretty affordable. The weakness is they can die easily...but the best defense is a good offense anyway.

I actually liked fighting drop pod armies, I thought they were weak to DE. I'll admit BT could give me fits, but it was really just about avoiding the blessed landraiders and killing everything else. A landraider can only kill so much in one game after all.
No terrain =
But my local game shops were usually pretty good about providing adequate terrain for tourneys. And in friendly games my friends and I always played heavy terrain - it makes the game more strategic.

Thank you very much, it took a little while to get the look to where I wanted it but the basing is actually what I'm usually complimented on the most (of course even *I* make fun of my painting skills, so that is probably apropos) It's actually a pretty simple mix too, which is a plus for me as I like to keep my painting workflow easy.

Now that the new codex has come along with haywire launchers you must be pretty safe from crusaders so grats! BAd for me do:( . How do you survive pod armies. I tought that bt had the drop pod assault rule but they dont so that idea is out. But armies that do have assault must be bad news. I mean the whole idea of eldar is to deny the enemy a chance to fight back. Arriving in a pod means you get to shoot first! EEEK! And if the pod has a whirlwind you might just bash the raider open and rapid fire at occupants. A de nightmare!

A Space Marine battleplan that is based around them not being inside transports is one I am comfortable with. I'll always have more Raiders and other skimmers than they have tools to pop them first turn. Also, with the new flickerfields even if I don't have first turn to move flat out in, I'll still have a 5+ save versus their attacks.

I actually consider Drop Pod Marines to be one of the better matchups for DE at the moment.

I actually never know how to answer this question because I'm always at a loss to figure out how people puzzle out their 'total points' with an army.
Under the old Dex I was fielding 2000 comfortably, and could go much higher in Apocalypse when they took away Force Org restrictions.
Under the new Dex I really do have a very comfortable 2500 army even in the Force Org restrictions.
Hope that helps answer your question.

You're just saying that here so Lorek doesn't notice

But, yeah, I do tend to take more batrep images of my opponent's stuff than my own. Odd habit.

I have to say, your army is amazingly painted. I've only just started painting the new Dark Eldar, but I came across some of my friends old models and found -unopened- kits of Warriors and Wyches, a few Incubi... Sad to find no Vect, but, hey, free models are free models.

I just need a few hints in playing them. I mostly run a Two Succubi blitzing technique, but if I'm against anything but Eldar, IG, or Tau, I get Rofl-stomped into dust.

But I'll try to get what models I have here painted and up on the site, plus put up my (proposed) new army list. Kinda hard to find the time to do all that while your in Afghanistan though

But anyway man, thanks for the inspiration! You have a new fan.

"Alright, you need 6's to wound." *Rolls all dice" "...So you got 8 sixes?" "Some people just have that kind of luck."
