Tbone update. Tbone wishes to let everyone know he is fine, but they can still send steak or buttered popcorn (only reall butter, poodles eat fake butter popcorn!) if they so desire. Also, if anyone would like to throw his ball a few feet 30 or 40 times he would be most appreciative.

You're forgetting that the aim of the Korean War was changed from containment to rollback when MacArthur was hammering the N. Koreans, and that in Vietnam the US was unable to win due primarily to a lack of support among the Vietnamese but also due to the rules of engagement, which kept the US military from directly attacking N. Vietnamese bases out of fear that the Chinese would get spooked and start a repeat of Korea.

As for your point about nuclear powers, I'd call hypocrisy considering that you're the one that joked about war with China in the first place.

So thats the initial North Korean invasion, and the left one is the UN forces pushing them back and beyond. Then comes China...



Looks more like it was the other way around. Don't get me wrong, in the long run (if a war is to be had) the US could smash China into oblivion if given the leeway to do so, at a cost to thier own no doubt. But neither country is too keen to get into that sort of conflict, as has been proven in the past.

You're forgetting the part about the surprise attack by China with 250,000 troops. Yes it drove UN forces south. Then they were stopped and driven back to the present day boundaries.

And you're forgetting that this war went on for roughly 2 more years before the present day boundaries were established. It was a Chinese counter-counter offensive that stopped a UN counter-offensive. So (technically speaking) China was the one who stopped the UN. Not the other way around.

It's also a valid point to make that the only reason the US avoided invading North Vietnam was becuase they feared Chinese intervention.
