Ok ive got my DH inquisitor lord with sanctuary in a chimera.
if i cast it do i measure 3" from the hull or 3" from the centre of the vehicle

if you dont know, sanctuary is a psycic power that creates a 3" "bubble" around the psycher that deamons cant enter or even draw line of sight through

now next question, is it a bit wrong taking an sanctuary equiped inquisitor with 2 mystics, joining a GK Perg squad (4 psy cannons) all in a chimera parked in the dead centre of the board with sanctuary cast

Yes, that's a bit wrong... the Inquisitor can't join another unit while he has a retinue, and you can only have one unit in a transport at a time. So there's no way to have the Inquisitor and his Mystics in the same chimera as the GK's.

Drop the mystics and its ok is it not? Using a elite Inq?

Without the retinue it would be fine for the Inquisitor to join the GK's.

Although it only works if you have them as allied with Imperial Guard... DH Chimeras can only be taken as dedicated transports, and dedicated transports in the DH codex can only transport the unit for which they were originally purchased. And Grey Knights don't have the option to purchase a chimera.

So as the rules currently stand, there is no way to put GK's into a DH chimera... you would need to ally them with Imperial Guard, and have them steal one of the Guard's chimeras after the game has started.
