Ok, sine i bought the HT recently, i have a few spare bits (mainly 2 scything talons, heavy Venom cannon and the ammo arm). Now, sooner or later i might need to get some more nids to form a stronger backbone for the army (mainly 2 zoanthropes *a must* 3 more warriors *converting one into a prime* and a box of Hormagaunts *oinly got 8 >.<*) now, my main question is this, for the warrior prime, i felt that it would be a great idea to use the Heavy Venom Cannon Ammo Arm (pic below) to use a lash whip (obviously added spikes would look great).

Any thoughts? cause i feel good about this idea and if anyones done it, feel free to post a pic

I think it's a good idea, but thinning the end with a file would make it look more like a lash/whip. You could even add GS for several ends coming out of the claw.

yeah, come to think of it, making a smaller tentacle protruding from the original with a little claw at the tip would look nice, i did not add the foot nails of the HT cause i did not particularly like them, so i think its worth saving them for this. thanks for the idea Lukus

Do you not like the bonesword and lashwhip the tyrant kit come with? theyre pretty sweet, especially if you clip aprt of the whip and repose it how you want.

resinaddict.com sells really cool tyranid bonesword resin bits he casts, got a few pairs, not too expensive, though im not a fan of his lashwhips.

Alternatively you could get a venomthrope kit, comes with 4 lashwhip looking tentacles that even come on a ball socket arm, though its a little weedy and youll have to bulk the arm itself up a lil with greenstuff.

well, ide much prefare using the bits i already have, and the HT bonesword and lashwhip are far too large to be on a warriors body, if i do put them on the model will look disproportionate.

I have used that very part to make a Lash whip for my Tyrant Conversion. Add a few spikes to the tip (I used some from the Carnifex Kit), and it looks realy cool.

One friend of mine used that for his Tyranid Prime, and another used that same bit for the lash whips on his Tyrant Guard. Overall, I'd say it's a good looking bit.

If I remember correctly user Aduro made a thread in the articles and blogs section on how to make boneswords out of scything talons. Not him for sure though...Will go on a hunt for the link
