Not sure how I thought of this....maybe a post of something I saw here earlier but I got a list I am gonna Proxy to see how it works.

HQ: Canis Wolfborn - 195 ..Pretty sure it allows me to have fenrisian wolves as troops. OR at least thats what I was told.

Fast Attack 1: Thunder wolf Calvary with a Thunder wolf with mark of the wolfen.
Mark of the wolfen in each pack has a bolter and a power first and all of them has
melta bombs.

I have three choices of these.
Each Fast attack is 305 points total.

Heavy support - Predator with twin linked Lascannon and Heavy Bolters on each side. Total points each one takes up is 130

Total points of the army is gonna be 2498

I am gonna proxy the wolf troops for Ork boys and pretty much substitute everything for ork stuff of its equivilant. Fast attacks I will Proxy for Deff Copters and I got a normal Dreadnought and Ghazhskull will work just fine for canis wolfborn I think. Basically a for fun game to see if this list would work or not.

What do you guys think?

That list i think is crap for many rasons:

Canis has no invulnerable save, just 3+ for armor.

fenrisian wolves dont control objetives and their save is too crap, light fire or some blast weapons and they are out.

You put mark of the wulfen to a troop with 4 attack base???? has no sense.

Dread extra-expensive with drop pod that will be on first turn close to the enemy.

2500 points list that can be easily killed in 3 turns. Your possibilities to do something are 0 coz you have no real options versus mech lists or heavy infantry that for sure you will have in front of you at that point lists.

Anyway if you plan just for fun with friends.. go on. Report results.

Oh no I am well aware of the weakness of this list. Thats not my point though! The point is that the list is nothing but a bunch of Doggies and a few people Riding some. That and since its 2500 points the heavy and elite choices are just point fillers. Of course they cannot hold objectives but who cares? You have an army of Wolves...Dogs if you will my good sir.

I think using orcs to proxy sort of defeats the purpose...you wouldn't have an army of wolves, you'll have an army of orcs on boars and deffkopters...

That being said, if you actually bought and painted 90 wolves, Canis, and three full groups of TWC (using some sort of wolf model) you would have an amazing looking, albeit fairly useless on the table army.

I think maybe aiming for 1000 points would be more reasonable, actually possible, and somewhat less crazy... you could still have Canis, 60 wolves and 6 TWC models, and it would still look pretty amazing.

Mark of the Wolfen and Power fist nets d6+1 S5(for thunderwolf) rending attacks(all other than 6s to would are savable).

In other words you just spent 25 points to upgrade a model with a powerfist then spent another 5 points to make that power fist never work

Yeah...I foresee 3 Chimeras ruining your day for almost the entire game. Especially if they have Platoon Command Squads kitted with 4 Flamers which tends to be a favorite.

You have 60 Fenrisian Wolves (Cyber Wolves are only good for Iron Priests, don't waste the points otherwise.), 17 Thunderwolves (of which, 5 hit on a 3+ in close combat, no matter what) and two objective holders in the form of the Grey Hunters. Sure, it isn't the most competitive thing in the world; however, you get the wolves you want and a list that would be fun to play and still useful.

hmm.. Ok I could try it.

Do they even SELL the Wolf models yet? I haven't found them yet.

Games Workshop does sell models that are suitable for Fenrisian wolves. They are located on the Warhammer Fantasy home page. From there, go to "Bitz" and then "Mounts" on the drop-down toolbar. They come in packs of 5 for $15.

As for Thunderwolf Cavalry, there are no models for them as of yet. There are a few conversions out there, people using High Elf Chariot Lions and the like. Ebay also has a few sculpters selling models. They are a bit pricey thought, but thats where I bought mine. Just waiting for them to arrive
