Is there anywhere on the web, you can see complete tactical markings (tac or assault squad - which company - which unit etc.) for the major chapters?? And does anyone know, how many chapters use the tac squad marking on the left shoulder pad, found on the tac squad in aobr?

Painting a bunch of stuff.. sometimes commisions sometimes for my own collection, check it out at

It's being run by people with short term vision and enough greed to extinguish a sun.

Perhaps they're the C'tan.

You won't get anything remotely resembling an actual number, as the fluff doesn't even tell us exactly how many chapters there are (just that rather vague 'probably around a thousand') ... but it's been mentioned in pretty well every version of the Space Marine codex that most Chapters follow Codex Astartes organisation to some degree.

Tac squad arm is the right arm of the mini. Most of them use it though. Some exceptions are the Blood Angels (blood drops instead), Dark Angels (arrow on side with point at either end), Black Templars (Chapter icon).

Ultramarines, Imperial Fists, Crimson Fists, Salamanders, White Scars, Blood Ravens all use it in varying colours.

I can't vouch for its accuracy, but this website shows a lot of the colours for the various chapters using tactical marines mostly as the model. The models are computer generated so most tend to have the same arrow up tactical sign whether they're supposed to or not.

I'm not familiar with the AOBR minis, but I'm assuming it's the standard Vetical Arrow. Isn't it on the right shoulder pad?

It's probably easier to list the Chapters that definitely DON'T use this type of marking. Please note, this is to the best of my knowledge and I may accidentally leave some chapters out. I'm confident others will correct me if I'm wrong.

BA- squad markings are on the right knee. 1 of their successor chapters dose use Codex markings- Flesh tearers?
BT- no squad markings
SW- completely different markings
DA- Horizontal double headed Arrow <-->

Edit-
Nice link Cadbren. I've never seen that before.
