I just recently became interested in starting up Heroclix again. So I was wondering if anyone else played.

I really find repainting the models to be a fun challenge since they have very little detail, and its a great game to play since it seems to have a far more laid-back tournament scene.

Kind of. I used to play the Batman Heroclix a bit, but then it kind of fell by the wayside for the Halo variant =P Yeah, quite a good game, though. I'm the opposite of you in that I love painting, and often repainted parts of the figures

Looking for fun articles on painting, tactics and wargaming? Are you after a new regular blog to follow? Are you a bit bored with nothing better to do?

If the answer to any of the above is 'well, I guess' you could probably do worse than read my blog! Regular wargaming posts, painting and discussions

I like painting them, I find that they need a good stripping and some modeling to look decent.

Here is my most recent model.

I used to play Heroclix extensively from the initial release but eventually dropped off because it was starting to become very cookie cutter for tournament lists (I basically got tired of winning tournaments by fighting a bunch of the HSS range 10 Superman model - I forget what set that was) I know my very last set and last booster draft was the Marvel set with the second Thor figure (the non-Down Syndrome Thor).

My current FLGS has an active Heroclix scene and they keep trying to rope me back in but I'm not sure if I really want to get back into the collecting aspect as I have a rather extensive collection that, by now, is probably all phased out of the active scene so I'm stuck with friendly Open tournaments or casual play by this point barring a solid buy back in.
