I haven't been this happy since I found we have a Secret Robot Space Plane.

If this does not happen I will make it my mission to burn New Zealand to ash.

I have never despised rich people as much as I do right now, at this exact moment.

I wonder how long it would take me to swim across the Tasman Sea...

People are like dice, a certain Frenchman said that. You throw yourself in the direction of your own choosing. People are free because they can do that. Everyone's circumstances are different, but no matter how small the choice, at the very least, you can throw yourself. It's not chance or fate. It's the choice you made.

So, most of the time in tech threads I pop in to point out that the new gadget is all well and good but where the hell is my jetpack, because we all know we aren't really in the future until we get jetpacks.

So, ummm, awesome. I guess this is the future. Well, the rich people are in the future anyway. Where's my commercially viable mainstream jetpack, dammit.

“We may observe that the government in a civilized country is much more expensive than in a barbarous one; and when we say that one government is more expensive than another, it is the same as if we said that that one country is farther advanced in improvement than another. To say that the government is expensive and the people not oppressed is to say that the people are rich.”

Adam Smith, who must have been some kind of leftie or something.

$75k is a lot of money but it's not unimaginable. I don't have kids so if I want nuts one day and cashed in my life savings I could just about do it.

And think of the time I'll save commuting...
