Can anyone give me some advice on army construction? What sort of units to watch out for and the like with ogres?

The best tourny army ive seen was tyrant, butcher x3, and msu bulls/ironguts/lead beltchers... Flyers, chariots, and heavy cav tend to be ogres undoing

Chaos knights and chariots are your units big problems. No real way to take them out than your tyrant, who will probably be busy taking on their lord or heroes.

Ogres are not generally used because of the fact they are not very competitive. I find that the butcher spam works well.

In ur gaem, killin ur doodz.

The most competitive list i've ever heard of was maneater spam.

Max units of Maneaters at 4 strong. The rest is support. along with tons of characters.

;_; but ogres go nom nom and eat stuff.

Sigh, I guess I'll have to hope for a good update to be competitive. While it seems most people where I play tend toward friendly games, there are a couple that bring competitive lists.

On the subject of maneaters, were they mixing the weaps, going pure Cathayan LS, great weap or pistols? I could imagine with pistols they could be nice to pepper and harass flanks, the Cathayan LS makes them better than Brusiers (WS5, I4 and armor piercing) and the GWs would be giving them 7S.

The pistols are great because not only do they get the shots they also get the extra attack in CC if I remember correctly. My maneaters always have the guns!
